Having already released three EPs for the label, including his 2008 debut and recent jam, Cheesecake," the talented producer has become an important label ambassador at live dates across the world. Now, he delivers his first LP for the imprint, and his third album overall.The aptly titled Paradigm Shift sees Martinez assimilate an abundance of deep house references into his usual palette of minimal and techno. Alongside lush moments of deepness such as the inimitable "Lavender Mist" and polished "Maresias," Martinez treats us to the warm and contented sounds of "Gourmet". Intertwining the record with bursts of funk laden electronics, such as "Solaris," "Kamino" and "Mr Decocco," Martinez is also explosive at all the right times: "Damaged Color's" slinky low bass and the driving beat of "Williamsburg" both point to a more club focused angle, giving the record yet more amiable balance.

Review: Young, Swedish born underground maestro Martinez needs no introduction. Already described as a "Leading Player" by DJ Magazine, his talents will be familiar to most in the scene with his sound edging towards the more 'techier' and experimental side of house music. He came to the forefront in 2003 with his release on Steve Bug's imprint, Dessous, ("Skywalker EP") and since then Martinez has launched his own highly respected label, Out of Orbit - releasing many a quality 12" from the likes of Trentemoller, Zvukbroda and Jussi-Pekka. Martinez also has releases on such highly regarded labels as Guidance, Get Physical and Automatique. This year his debut long player was greeted with much critical acclaim and his talents both as a producer and DJ have now reached a wider audience. It was after his stunning reworking of "Under A Werewolf Moon" by Silicone Soul in late 2005, that a friendship blossomed and an EP followed. "Monday Morning" and "Sunshine Stalker" have already caused quite a buzz from the hand-out of CDR's at this years Sonar Festival. Both tracks are prime club cuts - spacey, atmospheric, 'cosmic' electronic house, full of twists and edge that will find favour with a variety of DJ's. This is the ideal accompaniment for those dark, smokey rooms and a tuned-in audience. Enjoy.

Review: Danish producer and Out Of Orbit label boss Martinez returns to his label doing what he does best, namely laying down some serious dub house grooves for da clubs. "Polytone" features his trademark rolling dub bass that surges up from the depths of the bassbins while delicate squelchy riffs do their thing over top. On the flip, "Bedouins" adopts a tough, jacking attitude thanks to some tasty snare drum work, accompanied by trippy processed vocal fragments, found sounds and a dope bassline/kick combination. Feel the Martinez heat.

Review: The SlapFunk crew have another new recruit for their mission to match minimal dance aesthetics with tough old-skool punch. Danish producer Martinez has plenty of experience having released everywhere from Guidance to Moon Harbour and Minibar, and he sounds right at home freaking the funk for the Dutch contingent. There's a straight up strut to the jacking drums on opener "Inter Species Relations", while "Aspired Commotion" slips into the kind of wriggling shuffle you'd expect from a SlapFunk release. "No Data" adopts a skippy 2-step stance with some eerie textures on top, and then "Shanty Town" finishes the record off with more swinging business peppered with delightful keys.

Review: Danish producer Martinez debuts on Cadenza and if you like your techno to be teeming with bass, this Mzuzu EP is for you! A Chant dub of the title track resides on the A Side with a heavily filtered kaleidoscopic melody swirling deep beneath the sharp low end groove, before inevitably rising to the fore with hypnotic effect. It's the final section when the beat really kicks in which will cause bedlam, however the B Side proves to be even more effective. Heavy frequencies positively rattle the stylus on "Adagio" a track driven by the throbbing bass drum, with Martinez crafting a jacking groove that bristles with crispness around it and drowning the surroundings in subaqueous melodies built from obscure vocal samples twisted with delay.
