The Tooro is Fred's Lab's new 6-voice 4-part hybrid "digilog" polysynth.

Including the latest discoveries in mixed electronics, the original FL A847 analog filters, this is the perfect module for demanding sound designers and every musician seeking distinctive tones with a strong personality, in a very compact form factor.

Each voice offers 2 complex digital oscillators with waveform morphing, 2-operator linear phase modulation and self-sync features plus a noise source, a ring modulator, the unique FL A847 lowpass filter accompanied by a digital shaper, 2 advanced LFOs and 2 ADSR envelopes.

A modulation matrix with 8 slots allow the animation of most of synthesis parameters.

A master stereo digital FX offering various modulated delays is also included.

Tooro is shipped with a printed version of the QuickStart Guide (in English) and a 1 meter black USB cable.

Technical aspects:

All Fred's Lab instruments are produced and manually assembled locally in Germany.

The Tooro is a polyphonic and multitimbral synthesizer module with 6 voices, 4 parts, per voice analog filters and a stereo signal path.

Triple bandpass filter module
Notes: The ADDAC603 VC Triple Bandpass Filter provides three channels of bandpass filters, fantastic for sculpting complex sounds. Each of the channels feature a gain/distortion control with switch to select between x3 or x100 gain, which can cause the input signals to distort, adding another layer of harmonic interest.

The inputs are cascaded together to allow for one source to be filtered three different ways - or each filter can be used independently. The three filters also feature controls for frequency, which sets the cutoff point; width, which sets the width of the band that is being filtered; feedback, which at high settings causes the filter to self-oscillate, and level control, which sets the amplitude of the output. Frequency, bandwidth, and output level each have CV inputs with attenuverters.

A switch sets whether the filter is 24 dB or 12dB per octave. There are individual outputs with phase switch, plus a mix output and dry/wet output with adjustable control for mix balance. This module provides a wide variety of filtering options to add complex tonal shaping to your rack.

Notes: Fully redesigned from the original Cosmix, the Cosmix Pro is an eight-channel mixer intended to work nicely for performance as well as production. Suitable for line-level stereo signals as well as Eurorack levels.

It features the same amount of channels as the previous Cosmix, 4x mono in, and 2x stereo in.

There's one mono aux bus, and an additional true stereo AUX for all channels, with a dedicated mono and stereo return.

Each channel has a pan pot, a big push button for clickless muting, and a dedicated LED level meter to visualize channel output level.

The mono channels come with a handy low cut switch. (-3dB @80Hz / -6dB @ 45Hz)

The stereo channels have an optional +18dB gain, allowing you to easily mix in line level external gear.

The two stereo channels also have a CV input for voltage controlled panning.

There are connectors on the back for daisy chaining, or for connecting to future expanders/other mixer units.

High quality aluminium panels, available in black or silver.

The older model Cosmix is discontinued until further notice, since the parts for the drive circuit are unobtainium.

That's also the reason there is no dedicated drive circuitry in the new model.

Analogue compressor/expander module with inductor EQ section, sub bass enhancer and harmonic exciter - 12HP.
Notes: The Dannysound Dynamics is a compressor / expander originally designed to process drums but, like most processing devices, it can be used for a wide variety of applications.

The module comprises of:

Compressor / Expander

The compressor / expander section uses a discrete transistor-based circuit that allows for soft clipping when overdriven.

The envelope detector is known as a feedforward type of circuit; taking its input from the signal before it goes to the compressor rather than after. This type of circuit is known for having fast attack times.

The Sub Bass enhancer has its own compression circuit that "ducks" the initial transient. This allows the sub bass to be increased without distortion on the transient peaks, increasing the overall level.

There is a MIX control to allow the unprocessed signal to be mixed back in with the processed signal.

The 3 band EQ is an inductor based LCR design. After Dannysound tryed out various EQ topologies, this was the design that sounded the nicest. When overdriven it gives a nice "bite" to the sound, and it has a certain characterful charm that's hard to put into words. The controls have a response that are subtle to begin with and get more pronounced as the controls are increased.

The Harmonic Exciter adds a little distortion to the high frequencies, which bring out the sparkle of cymbals or the snap snare drums. The operating bandwidth can be switched between Low (snare drum snap) or High (Cymbals sparkle).

There are inputs for side chaining and control with an external envelope as well as an envelope out to make the envelope detector output available to drive other modules.

It also features separate inputs and outputs for the Compressor / Expander and EQ sections, so they could be used as 2 separate modules.

TUKRA is an 8 track eurorack trigger sequencer with drum synth, sample player and midi.

This module can be an 'all in one' solution for drums, but also has great integration capabilities with other gear (eurorack modules, drum boxes, DAWs, midi devices and midi surface controllers).

There are no submenus, all functions and views are accessible all the time.

Triple analogue saw-core oscillator module - 26HP
Notes: TRILOBITE is a triple oscillator analogue module inspired by the original Moog schematics and made with thru-hole components only.

The module features:

- 4 octave ranges

- UNISON (FINE) control with a range of +/- 12 semi-tones

Independent audio output is provided for each oscillator. A mixed output is also present featuring a level control.

We are recommended to use independent audio outputs to avoid distortion, in this case MiX output works as WHITE NOISE source with attenuator.

V/oct input of the first oscillator is normalled to all 3 oscillators, so OSC2 and OSC3 would track it too, however, connecting other signals to the other V/oct inputs make each input independent.

The minimum frequency of each oscillator is as low as 3Hz which makes it possible to use them as LFO.

Each oscillator tracks up to 9 octaves.

Gate Outputs Behaviour:

At every clock input, based on the four knobs probability settings, the module will select one active gate out, only one of the five gates will be active at all times. All Gate outputs can also behave as a Trigger instead, Trigger size can also be adjusted.

The knobs set the probabilities of each gate to be chosen, here's an example of how this operates

With all first four knobs at 12 o'clock the first Gate has 50% of being the chosen one, the remaining 50% of the times will be passed through the next knobs. So Gate 2 at 12 o'clock has 50% of the remaining 50% left by setting one, which leaves it with 25% chance of being the chosen one, the remaining 25% will be passed through Knob 3 which will have 12.5% chance of being the chosen one, the remaining 12.5% will be sent to Setting 4 which will have a probability of 6.25%. The remaining percentage left by the 4 Settings will always be the probability of Gate 5, in this case the remaining 6.25%.

Here's a couple more examples.

All knobs at 12 0'clock
Setting 1 = 50% chance, 50% left for remaining settings.
Setting 2 = 25% chance, 25% left for remaining settings.
Setting 3 = 12.5% chance, 12.5% left for remaining setting.
Setting 4 = 6.25% chance, 6.25% left for Gate 5.

All knobs at 9 0'clock (aproximate values)
Setting 1 = 20% chance, 80% left for remaining settings.
Setting 2 = 16% chance, 64% left for remaining settings.
Setting 3 = 12.8% chance, 51.2% left for remaining setting.
Setting 4 = 10.24% chance, 40.96% left for Gate 5.

Tuning and CV outputs:

While in the Tuning page you can use all knobs to set the 5 pitches
When in tuning page knobs should be rotated one at a time!
While rotating the knobs the CV out 4 will be used as a monitor, the other 3 CV outs will be behaving normally.
The module detects which pot is being rotated and outputs the relative pitch CV on CV out 4 for all knobs.
While on this page the tuning will be quantized or not relative to the panel Quantize on/off switch. Even if this process is done in quantized mode the module always store the free value in order to allow quantisation to be turned off later.
Once you're happy with the tuning you can exit the page, new values are stores to memory while exiting the page.
When tuning the module detects both the note selected and the relative octave.

CV Outs behaviour
This will be easier to explain with examples

Let's say we tuned these notes:

C0 or 0v
D1 or 1.166v
F2 or 2.466v
G3 or 3.583v
A4 or 4.75v

1. Next Logic out calculated is gate 3.
CV outs 1-2-3 will output a note in octave 2, the note itself is randomised from the 5 tuned notes (C,D,F,G,A).
CV out 4 will output the exact note tuned with knob 3 (F2)

2. Next Logic out calculated is gate 5.
CV outs 1-2-3 will output a note in octave 4, the note itself is randomised from the 5 tuned notes (C,D,F,G,A).
CV out 4 will output the exact note tuned with knob 5 (A4)

Out 1-2-3 is octave related
Out 4 always output the original tuned note

Knobs Pages access:

MENU/TRIGGER button is used to access pages
After power up it gets to first page by default.

Page 1:
MENU/TRIGGER button is off and blinks with clock inputs

Page 2:
Pressing the MENU/TRIGGER button for 3 seconds the Button Led lights up meaning you're in Page 2, changing knobs will affect the secondary function.
Releasing the button jumps to Page 1

Page 3:
Pressing the MENU/TRIGGER button for 3 seconds the Button Led lights up, keeping it pressed without moving any knob for 3 more seconds makes the Button led go off. At this time you can release the button. After that the button will light up meaning you're in page 3, or the tuning page.
Pressing the button one time jumps to Page 1

Soft-Recall and Memory:

Knob positions are stored in memory while in operation to be able to have a soft recall of the settings, so when jumping from page to page you'll need to rotate the knob until you find the last setting and only then they start to operate. Whenever the pot crosses the last setting point the MENU/TRIGGER button will blink indicating that the knob is now active.

Page 2 & 3 have permanent memory so it will always load the last settings after power up.
Page one is volatile and powers up with the initial knobs settings.

Notes: The Precision VCO (PCO) is Serge's legendary oscillator. It combines raw vintage sound with astonishing precison.

The PCO is a versatile, voltage controlled oscillator now offering four high quality waveform outputs (sine, triangle, pulse and sawtooth) and both linear and exponential frequency modulation capabilities . A front panel switch conveniently extends the range of the PCO from the audio range (16 to 16,000 Hz) to a sub-audio range (.1 to 200 Hz) for use as a Low Frequency Oscillator.

EXCELLENT RESPONSE, TRACKING AND STABILITY: Featuring the identical exponential response, exceptional tracking characteristics, and perfect temperature stability as the NTO, the PCO is especially suited for use with the NTO or another PCO as a modulation source for dyanamic depth linear FM.

Two calibrated one volt per octave inputs as well as a variable processing input are provided for complex frequency control. FM depth can be varied with the front panel adjustment. A Sync input is also available for locking the PCO to another oscillator's fundamental, harmonic, or sub-harmonic frequency.

The Serge PCO is the only authorized version of Serge's classic design.

Supplier's notes:
The Intellijel Quadrax consists of four independent, CV-controllable channels, each of which can be configured to perform any one of the following functions:

- An AD (Attack, Decay) envelope
- An AHR (Attack, Hold, Release) envelope
- A cycling envelope (resulting in a unipolar LFO)
- A pulse burst generator (Finite repeated functions that ascend or descend in amplitude)
- A morphing, bipolar beat syncable LFO

The envelopes all feature a continuously variable response curve, ranging from logarithmic through linear to exponential, and each stage can be as snappy as 0.3 ms to as lengthy as 20 seconds.

When set to Burst mode, the channel generates a rising or falling burst of pulses, with full control over the length of the pulse burst, the number and shape of the bursts within it, and whether the bursts increase or decrease in amplitude over the burst.

AD, AHR, Cycling and Burst modes all feature a user-selectable maximum output level of either 5V or 10V.

LFO mode offers control over the frequency and waveshape, while providing a unique morphing feature that creates numerous variations of the selected waveshape. LFOs can be either free-running or beat-synchronized using the channel's TRIG input.

Channels can be chained together to create complex multi-stage envelopes, with each channel triggered by the previous channel's trigger input, end-of-rise, or end-of-fall. This enables multiple function generators to fire simultaneously, or it enables the creation of complex multi-stage envelopes by allowing the linked function to fire either at the end of the previous function's rise time, or at the end of its fall time.

Four freely-assignable, step-attenuverted CV inputs are capable of modulating any or all of the various parameters across all four channels using the built-in CV matrix, and built-in attenuversion for each assignment.

Quadrax remembers its current state (Mode and CV assignments, channel links, etc) and retains that state even if power is removed, meaning Quadrax will always turn on in exactly the same state as you last left it.

Notes: Studio Electronics' version of the boxy, Blade Runner-sweet and Boomstar-brash dual mode CS80 filter, initially married to the Omega Series Synths, and then tucked-in the 'Stars, now joins the Modstar Collective. They've twisted and turned the SE88 to unflatten the earth, so to speak; the original CS80 fed a HP filter into a LP filter, but with the SE88 your can select MODE 1's HP or BR to feed MODE 2's LP or BP, or patch it to reverse that pleasant path. The audio signal is completely controllable with input and output levels for each filter. Cherish and respect your filter's input gain stages, for a smooth yet often brassy sound - shed your mercy to strike hard for boiling, snarling bite, even to the blackout/cutout point (see Greg St. Regis, Tim Caswell, and Marc St. Regis' SEM filter commentary for a detailed diatribe on this "feature too far"); then and only then, uniquely blend mode settings for the filter family values you revere.

To get things merrily modulating, each filter employs attenuverters for frequency and resonance experimentation and decimation. While the SE88 does not self oscillate (Yamaha's creation didn't either), we did amp up the resonance level for full-throttle squelching. An additional master FM (frequency modulation) attenuverter-controlled level can feed both filters (when hungry enough) simultaneously, and tracking switches allow for individual keyboard response for each of the contrasting and complimentary filter modes.

Five attenuverter and eight attenuation pots control the FREQUENCY MODE 1, FM IN, FREQUENCY MODE 2, RESONANCE, M1 FM, RESONANCE, M1 RES CV 1, M2 RES CV, INPUT, M2 FM, OUTPUT, LEVEL (M1 OUT), and LEVEL (M2 OUT).

Notes: The Theremini is a reimagination of one of the oldest electronic musical instruments, and Bob Moog's first love - the Theremin. Its design fuses the experience of playing an instrument you don't actually touch, with a powerful sound engine derived from Moog's award winning synthesizer, Animoog. The Theremini guarantees immediate success to anyone at any skill level or physical ability, while also providing new ways to experiment with music, education, and gestural control.

Assistive pitch correction allows each player to adjust the instrument's level of playing difficulty. When activated the Theremini will play every note in a selected scale perfectly, making it impossible to play a wrong note. As the assistive pitch correction is decreased, more expressive control of pitch and vibrato becomes possible. When deactivated, the Theremini will perform as a traditional Theremin and there is absolutely no pitch correction.

A built-in tuner supplies real-time visual feedback of each note as it is played, as well as its proximity to perfection. This is useful for correcting a user's playing position, and for educating younger players about pitch and scales.

The Presets section of the Theremini allows you to select from 32 wave or wavetable-based presets, store a selected scale, set and recall a specified playing range, and specify settings for the included stereo delay and more.

Recessed in the top of the Theremini is a compact speaker perfect for private rehearsal and quick setup anywhere. Silent rehearsal is also possible via the front panel headphone jack. Simply plug in ear-buds or headphones and the built-in speaker becomes silent.

For live performance and gestural control, the rear panel of the Theremini features stereo line level audio outputs, a Pitch CV output with selectable range, and a mini USB jack for MIDI connectivity to the free Theremini Mac / Windows software editor and Theremini iPad editor.

It's no secret that over the past few years stereo pedals have become a huge part of many musician's rigs. While many regular tones can (and should) be mono, KMA are very much fond of stereo effects. But why is it so hard to use them either at home or on the stage? Without the luxury of 2 amps (plus the ability to turn them up if you have them) or for owners of cab/amp simulators that are usually mono input by design, monitoring stereo effects properly can end up being so difficult that many just end up running their stereo effects in mono and therefore lose many of their spatial creativity nuances.

Doubling guitars in recording is also a common practice in a variety of musical styles. In many cases, a single guitarist will record the same track twice with each separate recording being spread to the left and right channels. The effect of this is unmistakable to the ear and the slight differences and nuances between the two separate performances complement each other to create a noticeable thickness, density and weight to the musical experience. This is hard to get sounding right live too. Note this is not the same thing as simple doublers (that just delay one signal with a modulation) or ADT type solutions that are on the market today.

So, KMA developed ENDGAME. KMA wanted to make an easy-to-use product that gives the essentials of good tone, nothing more and nothing less. While from the front panel it might look like ENDGAME has lots of controls, compared to many hidden menus and screens in many other products, all means that it is also deceptively simple to use, despite the huge complexity of what's going on inside!

Stereo FX Loop

A Stereo FX Loop isn't a new thing, but in ENDGAME's case it is probably one of the most usable, making this a killer feature!

For maximum flexibility, the serial loop features routing that can exist either before or after the IR loader and/ or Doubler (when active). Buffered for the sake of long cable runs and to maximise signal clarity, you can now hear your stereo pedals and other effects in their true pristine glory! Plus, you can quickly switch the loop on or off via the convenient soft footswitch.

True Double Tracker

Whether playing live or recording with a single instrument, the KMA ENDGAME's True Double Tracker provides the perfect solution for adding a "fatness" and "width" to your performances and really feels like you are playing the same riff twice!

Enabled via the footswitch, the doubler accurately replicates the minor differences that could exist within two separate recordings and the width control can spread your doubled tracks anywhere from completely centred (0%) to 50% left and right (centre indent) and 100% left and right split.

Versatile connectivity

Erisr Pro Sub 10 subwoofers provide the connections needed to act as the central hub for a basic monitoring setup, including left and right balanced XLR and 14-inch TRS and unbalanced RCA main inputs. Connect full-range monitors with left and right balanced XLR or 14-inch TRS outputs. An XLR subwoofer output lets you connect a second Pro Sub 10.

Seamless system integration

The Erisr Pro Sub 10 integrates seamlessly with your full-range monitors. A variable lowpass filter sets the upper (crossover) frequency reproduced by the subwoofer. A switchable highpass filter on the full-range outputs helps avoid frequency cancellation and reinforcement in the subwoofer's upper range, while a polarity-invert function ensures your system is in phase. Many commonly used plugins are pre-mapped including of course Logic Pro's own. Panorama CS12 dedicates 12 RGB illuminated 360 pots, 4 display buttons and an additional 4 RGB LED buttons to plugin control. Every control can be assigned on multiple pages ensuring as a complete plugin experience, with no parameter left behind.

Via the ControlCore mapping system, it stores all settings in unique files so they can be ported to other computer systems and ensure compatibility with other DAWs in the future.

Any Plugin? ....Really?

Any plugin that presents its parameters for automation in Logic Pro, can be controlled from Panorama CS12. That includes Logic Pro's own plugins and any AU plugin hosted in Logic Pro.

There is no wrapper or plugin host. It just works.

Plugin Slot Selection

CS12 control insert plugins like no controller has ever done before. The 8 plugin slot select buttons are illuminated when plugins are present in the first 8 slots and the top button toggles between slots 1-8/9-16. Press a button and control the insert plugin immediately. Press another button and now control that plugin.

Control Any Parameter NOW

Control any parameter by simply clicking on it. The 100mm ALPS fader immediately jumps to the clicked parameters position and you take over from there. The fader or pan rotary, can be used to control any parameter in the currently selected Logic Pro channel, at any time.

Activate the Select button and the motorized fader now controls any parameter you click. Any mixer channel, instrument or insert effect plugin parameters. Click, control, click control. Super easy.

Plugin Parameter Learn

A plugin quick learn feature enables assignments on the fly. It's as simple as moving a parameter and moving a control to complete assignment. And while you are at it, change the LED colour of the control too.

Nektarine Map Creation

For the ultimate in control mapping, use the included Nektarine application/plugin. Assign parameters to controls using drag and drop, create your page structure and name parameters and pages so they are optimized for CS12. Once saved, plugin maps are picked up by ControlCore for use with CS12.

Precision control at 10x resolution

14 bit control resolution is not limited to the motorized fader. With the Fine button (magnifier icon) enabled each of the 12 pots control at 14 bit resolution. In practice this means you'll be able adjust parameters with the same fine grained values available through your plugins UI or up to 10 x regular control resolution.

NOTE: USB power has inherent ground noise, so when connecting the UNO Synth directly to your computer via USB, you may hear more noise and interference than when the synth is connected to a USB wall charger or running via batteries. With the direct computer connection, you can reduce the USB ground noise and other interference by either using a USB isolator or a custom TRS cable into a balanced input on your preamp or audio interface where the ground is not connected at the balanced input side.

Filter Freq: Cutoff frequency of the filter. Numbers shown are in Hz.
Filter Output: Volume of the filter section of the pedal.
Filter Selector: Selects between the different filter types - Low Pass Symbol Low Pass, Band Pass Symbol Band Pass, and High Pass Symbol High Pass.
Filter Resonance: Sets the resonance of the filter in conjunction with the Resonance Switch. WARNING: Will self oscillate at high levels!
Resonance Switch: Sets the range of the Filter Resonance knob between Normal and High.
Fuzz Output: Volume of the fuzz section of the pedal.
Fuzz Type Switch: Choose between two different fuzzes - Low Gain Fuzz Symbol lower for a cleaner, more driving fuzz, High Gain Fuzz Symbol higher for a blasted out, blooming, insane fuzz.
EXP/CV Input: Plug in CV control (~0-3.0v) or an expression pedal for external control of the Filter Freq knob. The Filter Freq knob sets the range for the EXP/CV input.

Explore the sonic space of phase cancellation! Phase cancellation shapes the characteristics of all acoustic instruments. It forms the basis of chorus and phaser effects. It gives vibrancy to detuned oscillators. The vibrant sound of pulse width modulation or the roaring sound of animated supersaws are a small part of a much larger sonic space that the Triphase Oscillator is built to discover.

The Triphase Oscillator produces three different sawtooth waves at the exact same pitch but with independent phase control. These are blended in a bipolar CP3-type mixer, giving a rich waveform at the output. By blending in a wave with a positive polarity, you reinforce in-phase harmonics; by blending a wave with a negative polarity, you reduce in-phase harmonics. The phase differences between the waves distribute the harmonics from in-phase to out-of-phase. The result is a comb-filter effect, like the effect produced by an acoustic reflection, with notches and peaks spaced evenly throughout the frequency range. Conventional pulse width modulation can be obtained by blending two sawtooth waves with equal but opposite polarity. Supersaw-like behavior can be obtained by using phase CV with the same polarity for all three waves. But many other interesting spaces can be reached. For example, by setting the phases correctly you can cancel out the first harmonic and get a saw an octave higher, or cancel both the first and the second harmonic, giving you a saw an octave and a fifth above the fundamental frequency. Modulation then brings back these canceled harmonics.

The Triphase Oscillator is completely analog, built around a sawtooth core that is functionally stable and accurate but sonically alive. It has linear FM on all three waves, and an excellent hard sync that can create shredding harmonic sweeps. The CP3 type mixer gives good distortion at higher levels, allowing you to blend three 5-volt-peak waves without worrying about headroom. All CV functions at audio rate. With an LFO driving the phases, it can easily replace the classic analog three oscillator setup, and in this configuration it's one of the fattest things you have ever heard. But the Triphase oscillator is much more than a thickener, and can just as easily produce thin reedy sounds or subtly shifting harmonic drones.

Analogue voltage controlled oscillator module - 30HP.
Notes: Mûmack is built from a temperature-stabilized analog source producing the three classic waveforms: triangle, saw, rectangle. This basic signal can be altered or enriched in several ways, which can be combined with each other, and associated with one VCA per mode.

Peak Compressor:
In the central position the signal is not modified. Turning the potentiometer to the right or to the left will compress the signal positively or negatively. It is this signal that will then feed Usual, Mûm and Hack. An LFO is dedicated to the compressor, controllable in speed and amplitude. A CV input with attenuator can also control the compressor.

USUAL:
The three waveforms are freely mixable, a CV input and a potentiometer can change the shape of the rectangle wave (PWM). The compressor intervening upstream, it can strongly influence the final form and the amplitude of USUAL. This produces complex analog waveforms, moving in time with the LFO or the CV input. The linear potentiometer makes it possible to mix the signal with the others, and to dose the volume of the direct output. The rotary potentiometer acts as an attenuator for the VCA input.

MÛM:
The Waveform potentiometer move the waveform of Mûm continuously from a attenuated triangle to a more pronounced triangle, then to a sinusoid and finally to a square wave. An LFO allows you to add a vibrato adjustable in speed and amplitude. The linear potentiometer makes it possible to mix the signal with the others, and to dose the volume of the direct output. The rotary potentiometer acts as an attenuator for the VCA input.

HACK:
Mûm's signal is taken up in a Wavefolder + compressor. Depending on the settings of the Peak compressor, and the three LFOs, we obtain complex, moving, organic waveforms. Again the linear potentiometer allows to mix the signal with the others, and to adjust the volume of the direct output. The rotary potentiometer acts as an attenuator for the VCA input.

ALL:
The three channel (Usual, Mûm, Hack) are mixed and brought together in a single output. The output volume is adjustable and a CV input with attenuator works like a VCA.

MIXER & VCA
The voltages produced by Mûmack, as is the case with many analog VCOs, can be high. The mixer allows them to be attenuated if necessary. Each of the three channels, and the product of the three, can be controlled by the VCA, with attenuator. The VCA is designed to add distortion at high values. The mixer is exponential for more subtle adjustments in low values.

Notes: Tiptop Audio's Z-DSP is a cartridge-based open source digital sound processing and effects generating platform for your modular synthesizer. Lush audio processing, greater stereo depth and a unique set of digital synthesis is what the Z-DSP is all about.

The Z-DSP has a stereo digital sound processor with 24-bit sampling, 15kHz of bandwidth, voltage-controlled parameters of stereo feedback, program switching, DSP parameters, equal power crossfading dry/wet mixing, as well as sequential program control switching and a clear display - all in Eurorack format. A dedicated clocking input for the DSP chip does wonders to passing sound by bending the algorithms in an unexpected way, a hardware technique computer plugins can't do and is unique to the Z-DSP.

In a recent update, the Z-DSP (NS) got an all new design of its analogue circuitry, contributing to a lower noise signal path, clearer sound of the entire frequency range, lower distortion and better immunity to noise emitted by other modules sharing the same power supply. A new analogue dry/wet circuit has been implemented to remove the 3db gain drop when the mix knob passes through the centre of the dial making the use of this function more practical in a live application. A reverse polarity protection has been added as well. The new front-panel matches Tiptop's colourful design, and a single printed circuit board and surface mount technology improve reliability during production and use. The powerful Z-DSP engine remains the same as the original Z-DSP module and all cards are compatible across both versions.

An assortment of interchangeable cards, programmed by Tiptop Audio and specialists like Valhalla DSP, provide a wide range of boutique effects algorithms such as Halls of Valhalla, Time Fabric, Clocked Delays and Grain De Folie. Tiptop Audio also offers blank Z-DSP cartridges and a development tool called NumberZ for developers, students and power users who want to design their own effects and cards with the FV-1 DSP chip programming language. Blank cards can be loaded using programs that are freely available for non-commercial use and can be found in the modular community through online forums.
