Notes: The 333 is a summing and distribution module for Eurorack modular systems.

It is composed of three identical sections, the red, yellow and green, each of those featuring three inputs summing amplifier with three independently buffered outputs.

Derived directly from the CGM creative mixer series, the sum section is DC coupled, allowing the sum of control voltages as well as audio signals.

With an extremely low tolerance in both sum and output sections, it is suitable also for summing quantized voltages like the ones coming out from the quantized outputs of the SAPEL.

In case CVs or audio signals are particularly hot, the 6dB attenuator might be helpful to reduce exactly by 50% the incoming signals.

Red and yellow output are also normalled to the 1st jack socket of the yellow and green input: in this way this module can also work as a 1 to 9 buffered multiple.

Notes: A-101-6 is a new filter module that uses so-called opto FET's to control the filter frequency. Opto FET's are very similar to Vactrols, but use light dependent field effect transistors (FET's) instead of light dependent resistors (LDR's). An opto FET is a combination of a light-dependent FET and an LED, both put into a small light-proof case. The advantage, compared to vactrols, is a much faster response of opto FET's compared to LDR's - this allows much faster attack/decay times and even FM effects.

The variable resistors corresponds to the opto FET. The brightness of the Opto FET LED's, and consequently the filter frequency, can be adjusted manually (Frequ. control) and controlled by means of an external control voltage (CV) with attenuator. The LED at the front panel reflects the LED brightness inside the opto FET's.

The type of filter is chosen by jumpers on the PC board (factory setting: low pass). The type of filter determined by the jumpers positions can be marked by means of a water-resistant felt pen at the front panel.

The resonance is controlled by the Feedback control up to self-oscillation. By means of a trimming potentiometer the maximal feedback can be adjusted. High feedback values can be used mainly in the all-pass mode to obtain very extreme self-oscillation sounds. Even an external feedback signal can be used instead of the internal feedback connection (FB In socket). Whenever the filter type is changed by means of the jumpers the trimming potentiometer for the maximal feedback has to be re-adjusted.

The Mix control is used to pan between the original signal (CCW position) and the effect signal (CW position). In filter mode (LP/HP) this control is usually set fully CW. In the all-pass modes one obtains phasing sounds at centre position or "pure" all-pass sound in fully CW position.

Notes: The ZONE B.F. module is an element of the Capsule TITAN. Zone basses frequences stands for low frequency zone. This module is composed of 2 LFOs, both LFOs have 16 sync-able waveforms.

The ZONE B.F. (black edition onwards) now features an additional mode. On the back of the PCB you will find two jumpers, marked as JP1. CV1 is LFO channel 1 and CV2 is LFO channel 2. By moving the jumper so it sits on one leg (rather than 2 as when you have received the module), the Sync input for either LFO channel now becomes LFO speed input, controllable via CV.

The EHX Octavix Octave Fuzz delivers the definitive late 1960's fuzzed out, octave up sound together with modern enhancements that update the classic concept. Housed in EHX's rugged nano package, the Octavix features Volume, Boost and Octave knobs. Volume regulates the output level of the pedal. Boost controls the amount of fuzztone and Octave adjusts the volume of the octave above. The SD808 is the TR-808's analog snare drum circuit adapted for use in Eurorack modular synthesizer format and was designed to sound like a fresh-out-of-the-box, 1980s TR-808 snare. Adapting the circuit to the modular format has allowed us to add special features like independent accent levels, a high-powered gain stage, a dual-input pulse-shaper, and an adjustable noise source - all without compromising the signature sound of the TR-808 snare drum.

The SD808 sounds tight and extremely snappy because it's analog - the real thing, not samples. The sound is made with three analog sound generators mixed together: two oscillating sine waves and a noise source. The SD808's front panel controls have a lot of sweet spots with sounds that are not just limited to snare drum sounds; it can also create other electronic percussive elements.

The noise source generator in the original TR-808 machines were revised in later production batches, resulting in variations in sound across the production run. The SD808 uses this later, revised circuit to create a snare drum hit that is slightly darker, has more body, and is more realistic. Just like other drums in this series, the SD808 includes a high-powered output gain stage capable of producing signals up to 20Vpp, allowing you to get an array of harmonized snare drums sounds with even tighter attacks. On the inputs, we have designed a dual-input pulse-shaper circuit so you can trigger the SD808 with Trigger/Gate signals from step sequencers, clock dividers, or any other pulse/clock sources. This eliminates the need to shape pulses sent to the module and ensures the same stable sound at peak power, regardless of your pulse source. All these unique features make integrating this legendary sound generator into your modular synth easy, unleashing the power of real analog drums.

Notes: The mini Innofader Plus is the new upgrade part which will replace the mini Innofader PNP P. The cut point has 0.1mm precision combined with a lightning fast 1msec response time. And now you can hook it up to an innoJUSTER to ensure you get the hairline precision cut point exactly where you want it on the fly!

The installation process is now greatly simplified. Low profile connectors ensure that you do not have to worry about breaking any cables. The button is now easier to press. And the adjustments now can be done with simpler swipe movements.

Notes: This small utility is the pedal's lover best friend, it allows 2 diferent chains of pedals to be independently connected to your synth.

Notes: SHTH - Sample and Hold - Track and Hold

Create stepped outputs using two different classic synthesis techniques, sample & hold and/or track & hold.

Sample & Hold

The top four jacks make up the sample and hold section. There is a noise output that is normalled to the input so you can pass a gate/trig signal into the SAMP input to get a stepped output at the OUT jack.

IN - Signal that will be sampled, normalled to NSE output
SAMP - When high updates the voltage being sent to the output
NSE - White noise output
OUT - The sampled output (freezes the value from the IN jack when the SAMP jack receives a high signal)
Track & Hold

The bottom four jacks make up the track and hold section. There is a walk signal (a randomish meandering voltage) that is normalled to the input. Track and hold is the opposite of sample and hold in that it will pass the IN value to the OUT jack until the TRACK input receives a high gate. While the TRACK input is high it will hold the value. After the TRACK input goes low, it will begin tracking the IN signal again.

There's nothing new about ABY boxes. They're a very commonly used accessory and a staple part of many setups out there. But if they are so common, then why is it so difficult to find one in a stereo format that's well built, noise-free AND affordable?

So, KMA made a killer stereo ABY switcher to use in the workshop. In the process it was found to be so useful, it has been made available to the world too in a pedal format.

KMA's STEREO ABY features a fully passive design for the best signal integrity, along with True Bypass active silent relay-based soft switching. While that might be a hell of a wordy mouthful, what it means practically is that the audio signal itself is entirely untouched and without any colouration. licks and pops that have plagued so many boards and has haunted so many musicians, since the inception of ABY boxes.

Notes: Module A-199 is a spring reverb module. The reverb effect is electronically simulated by means of 3 spiral springs. Spring reverb systems have a very characteristic sound that is based on the (insufficient) mechanical properties of the springs like signal delays, audio resonances, limited frequency range, acoustic feedback behaviour, sensitivity to mechanical shocks and others.

The 3-spring system used in the A-199 ensures a "dense" reverb because of the different properties of the three springs.

The A-199 implies some special features that are not self-evident for spring reverb units:

The reverb signal can be fed back to the input using the Feedback control. Even self-oscillation of the springs similar to the self-oscillation of filters is available. The feedback loop can lead even via external modules like VCA, VCF, phaser, frequency shifter, vocoder, distortion/waveshaper, ring modulator and others. In this case the reverb output of the A-199 is connected to the input of the external module(s) and the output of the external module(s) is fed back to the Ext. Feedback In socket of the A-199. This socket contains a switch that interrupts the internal feedback loop as soon as a plug is inserted.

Another feature is the Emphasis control. This enables the adjustment of the accentuation of middle frequencies (around ~ 2kHz).

With the Mix control the relation between original and reverb signal appearing at the mix output is adjusted.

Using all these features very extreme and unusual effects can be generated with the A-199.

Review: Song Cycle Records has put together a collector's edition box set of the Solaris original soundtrack as realised by Russian composer Edward Artemiev, who was once a member of the legendary Experimental Studio of Electronic Music in Moscow. Andrey Tarkovsky's masterpiece film from 1972 is a cosmic epic with a soundtrack to match thanks to its many eerie synthesiser sounds and lo-fi, alien ambient atmospheres. The pair also worked on Mirror (1975) and Stalker (1979), but Solaris might be their best, as this compelling box set proves.

Notes: Pico EF is Erica Synths' take on envelope follower module in 3hp! Pico EF features a preamp with +40dB gain (enough to boost even guitar and dynamic microphone signals for use in a modular system), envelope output with adjustable attack time and a gate output with adjustable threshold. The Pico EF can be used as a preamp, overdrive unit or for controlling VCFs with audio signal, or to use with external instruments to control your modular system in other creative and experimental applications.

An Overdrive you can trust

The Special Cranker is an all-discrete analogue distortion enhancement device designed to give your signal some extra grit and boost without drastically altering your tone and retaining all of the natural nuances and character of your amp. Think of it as sticking an extra preamp tube in your amplifier for more saturation. Single notes will blossom and bloom with rich harmonics and singing sustain with responsive, tube-like sag. Power chords will sound thicker and crunchier, a little more ragged around the edges. Complex chords will remain distinct and complex, as the Special Cranker is designed to preserve your tone's integrity without muddying up the low-end or smearing the midrange.

The Special Cranker picks up where the beloved Speaker Cranker left off. It has the same spongy, dynamic, and touch-sensitive character of the original but with more gain, double the output volume (now with a user-friendly Level control), an added Tone control to shape your signal, and a diode selector switch featuring the original asymmetrical Silicon diodes as well as a hot, new Germanium diode option.

The More control goes from nearly clean to a medium gain overdrive when at maximum. This control adjusts the bias of the transistor, so you may hear a little noise as you turn the control. Don't freak out; it's totally fine. The gain characteristics are dependent on which diodes are chosen. When the Germanium diodes are selected, the Special Cranker delivers a softer, more rounded response with tamed highs and lower output, while the Silicon diodes add a brighter, more modern edge and higher output. Both are exceptionally responsive to playing dynamics and have excellent clarity. The Tone control gives the user full command over treble frequencies, cutting the highs when counter-clockwise and adding a slight high-frequency boost when turned clockwise. The Level control adjusts the output from nothing to nearly double at maximum.

Flexi-Switchr Technology
This device features Flexi-Switchr Technology! This relay-based, true bypass switching style allows you to simultaneously use momentary and latching style switching.

For standard latching operation, tap the footswitch once to activate the effect and then tap again to bypass.

For momentary operation, hold the footswitch down for as long as you'd like to use the effect. Once you release the switch the effect will be bypassed.

Since the switching is relay based, it requires power to pass signal.

Power:

This device should be powered a standard 9-volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise.

The Special Cranker can be safely operated from 9-18 volts.
