Review: Acido Germany has pulled together a serious selection of artists for The House Of Web: Reworked Vol 2, which is a collection of eight new takes on music made by Takuya Sogimoto for this label back in 2020 and 2022. The inimitable DJ Sotofett kicks off with 'Track 1,' a lithe and twisted acid jacker with mad machine rhythms slowly working you into a funk. Dynamo Dreesen & SJ Tequilla's 'Track 2' is an icy electro workout full of kinetic dance floor energy and DJ Gizzard keeps it freaky with his popping electro jam 'Track 3'. DJ Yoav B shuts down with the rhythmically playful and off-kilter 808s of 'Track 4'.

Review: LNS and DJ Sotofett explore a new direction on their latest EP, 'The Reformer,' released on Tresor Records. Moving away from their debut album, the duo fuses digital artifacts, scanner sounds, and vocoder voices with melodic colors that radiate across cold electro landscapes. The opening track, 'Reform,' takes a deep dive into the electro sound, while 'Plexistorm' blends synthesised strings with arpeggiated acidic bleeps. 'Electric Terraforming' uncovers charged energy sources for life on another planet, and '909 The Controller' features washes of dub over a skipping beat, with a slow, rippling melody and percolating synths. The vinyl version includes exclusive locked grooves by DJ Sotofett.

Review: While LNS and DJ Sotofett are old studio buddies - the Canadian and the Norwegian producers have previously released a string of singles on the latter's Wania imprint - Sputters marks the first time they've recorded an album together. Like previous outings, it's a hardware-driven affair - so dusty drum machines, synths and effects units all the way - united not be one rhythm or beat pattern but rather echoing electronic sounds, alien-sounding motifs, intergalactic riffs and a decidedly sci-fi ethos. Over the two slabs of wax you can expect to hear heady, intoxicating mutations of techno, IDM, ambient, Rephlex style "brain-dance", electro and slo-mo electronica. Throw in plenty of dub style effects and you've got a genuinely impressive, entertaining electronic trip.

These versions fron Norwegian scene stalwarts Telephones and DJ Sotofett are, however, a little different, with both infusing the pair's vocals and instrumentation with their own trademark sonic styles. Telephones is first up on side A, delivering a gorgeously Balearic, sunset-ready house-meets-nu-disco-meets-yacht-rock take (the 'Big Fuji Ringo Mix'), before offering up an immersive, ultra-dreamy, acid-flecked ambient revision (the 'Jigokudani-Ashiddosauna' version). Over on the flip, Sotofett re-frames 'Secret Lover' as a bubbly, Italo-disco influenced slab of cheery intergalactic electro, before adding waves of raw analogue electronics and TB-303 tweaks on his 'Cosmic Lover' cover.

Review: Sex Tags Mania chief Sotofett has had an ongoing friendship with Sydneysider Carlos Zarate, since appearing on the latter's Thug imprint with their collaborative Planetary Involvement EP back in 2016. Much like their previous outing, Arjun is another brazen tribute to the classic sounds of Detroit techno. From the classic hi-tech soul aesthetic of the title track with its celestial pads backed by bombastic electro-bass beats, plus sleazy G-funk leads. Speaking of which, the intergalactic funk of "Afroz" likewise gets its bass-heavy boom on, with melancholic strings and a wonky synth bass that's reminiscent of the Motor City's first wave - in particular Derrick May's Rhythim Is Rhythim releases.
