Review: Though 420 was originally recorded and released in April of 2020, Galcher Lustwerk's pandemic project is an exercise in counting and patience. Originally from a 16 track, 69 minute release only available for Bandcamp for $69 (or $4.20 per track), the 420 project brings us practically brand spanking new Galcher EP, just under a different name. Finally at an accessible price (and including signature Galcher vocals in a majority of the tracks to boot) this vinyl release hopes to bring more fans who missed the original release to the 420 club.

Review: These days Galcher Lustwerk is well-known for his unique blends of deep house, techno and immersive electronica, but back in 2013, when he recorded the '100% Galcher' mix for Blowing Up The Workshop, he'd yet to release any music. It was therefore a bold decision to create the mix purely from his own stems and unreleased tracks. Nine years on, Ghostly International has decided to turn that mix into an "album proper', presenting the tracks - sequenced, but unmixed - on CD for the very first time. It's a fabulously deep, melodious and immersive collection all told, packed to the rafters with dreamy, effects-laden synth sounds, minimal house and deep house beats, leisurely beatdown grooves, nods to future R&B and tactile, mood-enhancing melodic motifs.

Review: Back in 2014 Galcher Lustwerk and Palms Trax were both emergent artists making their first tentative steps into the scene. While they may be thoroughly distinct in their sounds, they found some crossover in an exchange of remixes, with Lustwerk's take on "Forever" appearing on Lobster Theremin. Palms Trax returned the favour with a version of Lustwerk's "Soul Control" which never saw the light of day until now. While it's certainly redolent of the earlier phase of Palms Trax's career, the effervescent musicality at the heart of the release is still completely in step with Palmsy as we know and love him today, replete with Lustwerk's inimitable laconic vocal delivery over the top.

Review: REPRESS ALERT: The modern master of subliminal deep house is back with a new album. Galcher Lustwerk has rightly earned a sterling reputation for his understated, always entrancing approach to 4/4 grooves. After last year's Dark Bliss LP and recent diversions via his Road Hog alias, he's offering up eight heavy-lidded cuts to suit the smokers as much as the dancers. Get blissed out in the sax-licked delights of skits like "Blue Lotus" or lock into the mellow raps and steady-ticking rhythms of "See You When I See You" - 200% Galcher goes down smooth from start to finish, like all good albums should.

Review: Having taken time out to deliver a range of home listening releases under the Road Hog alias, Galcher Lustwerk is back to doing what he does best: lo-fi deep house workouts with plenty of added fuzz. Dark Bliss is, of course, his debut album, and happily it's a rather strong collection of cuts that's arguably more aurally attractive than many of his releases. Highlights include the lo-fi Balearic deep house warmth of "What U Want Me To Do" (which, intriguingly, features his own Mr V style half-spoken, half-sung vocals), the chunky-but-dreamy dub house positivity of "Yeeno", the spacey synths and bustling drum machine beats of alien-sounding workout "Lithuanian Water" and the subtle ghetto-house and Seven Davis Jr influences of glassy-eyed peak-time treat "Red Rose".

Review: The 12" that started it all for Galcher Lustwerk back in stock - applause to White Material for this much-requested repress!!! Surfacing almost three years ago (!), this four track Tape 22 12" introduced the languid tones and silky smooth production skills of Galcher Lustwerk to the world, adding a more laid back dimension to the White Material sound after the "working man's techno" of Young Male and DJ Richard. The 100% Galcher mix soon followed, causing Lustwerkmania and some hiked-up prices for the few hundred copies of Tape 22 pressed up. Cuts like "Soul Patrol" and "Leisure" still bring that grin to the face now - don't miss out for a second time!

Review: Galcher Lustwerk's Tsuba debut, Nu Day, was undoubtedly one of Kevin Griffiths' label's best releases of recent years. It's perhaps unsurprising, then, that Griffiths has commissioned a quartet of new remixes from Kai Alce (under his KZR guise) and fellow White Material artist. The latter's two mixes of "Fate" are particularly good, with the dreamy chords, exotic melodies and eyes-wide-shut rhythms of the Glass Mix just shading the bleep-laden minimal techno throb of the Sueno Mix. As for Alce, he delivers a pair of chunky, atmospheric, floor-focused dubs of "Fate". Of these, it's the snappy beats, loopy vocals and yearning chords of the Jefferson Avenue Cruise Dub that most impresses.

Review: First hinted at on Galcher Lustwerk's Beats In Space appearance a few months ago, the breakthrough producer's Nu Day EP on Tsuba arrives with quite some expectation, especially given the sellout White Material 12" from last year was his last full release. Thankfully, it more than lives up to that fabled record, with four sumptuous deep house tracks with all of Lustwerk's trademark vocal charm. Opening track "Fate" is a heady instrumental reminiscent of the transitions in his mythical 100% Galcher mix, while "Nu Day 2" is a more driving combination of thickly filtered synth chords and crisp drum machine rhythms. The flip sees two classic Galcher vocal excusions, with "Nu Day 2" and "Chillin' In The Booth" filled with just as much charm as we'd expect from the man. This is vinyl only - don't sleep!

Review: Tsuba's ten year anniversary - that's right, it has been that long already - has been marked with hit after hit from a wide selection of artists from across the house kingdom. In fact, for this 2nd instalment of the festivities, we have White Material frontman Galcher Lustwerk remixed by the inimitable Jimpster, with the latter putting a more starry-eyed mechanic onto the original; For Romeau complete the A-side with a vintage-sounding remix of "Pinball" by Williams. On the flip, Roy Comanchero drops the Chicago bass over a minimal sort of percussion groove on "Hypba". Kevin Griffiths adds a little acid to the jingly 707 beat of "Satori", and completes a stellar EP from the magnetic Tsuba.
