Review: Miles Sagnia has a deep-rooted backstory in the UK underground techno scene. Under his own name and as Miles Atmospheric he's produced consistently compelling techno for labels like Finale Sessions, FireScope, Aesthetic Audio and Applied Rhythmic Technology. Such associations point to the soundworld Sagnia inhabits - a harmonically balanced strain of deep-diving brain food that favours expressive musicality and inventive programming over rigid functionality. Having previously appeared as Miles Sagnia on Ornate back in 2010, he returns to the label as Miles Atmospheric with three cuts that explore melancholic moods through artful interplay between beautifully rendered synth tones and intricate drum machine excursions. These tracks still move with purpose and presence, but the end goal is more cerebral than physical - a perfect fit for the immersive experiences Ornate has always strived to promote.

Our Future (5:40)

See The Light (7:31)
Review: IDM legend Steven Rutter has been presenting some awe-inspiring electronic explorations on his FireScope imprint in recent times. The label's latest instalment comes from British producer Miles Atmospheric Sagnia, whose classic techno perspectives on the SkyHealer EP sound right at home here. The Atmospheric Existence Recordings boss moves wonderfully through the deep shades of techno soul ("Exoplanetology"), chilled-out and dub-inflected electronica ("Our Future"), classic hi-tech soul ("Waters Of Life") and highly engineered electro of the most evocative kind on the brilliant "See The Light".

Antiformin
Grace
Review: A somewhat stealthy operator in UK techno, Miles Sagnia has quietly laid out a strong run of releases on Aesthetic Audio, Applied Rhythmic Technology and more over the past 10 years. Now he's back in the fray on his own Atmospheric Existence label with this assured slice of tripped out techno for those who like things looped up and driving. "Antiformin" is relentless in its construction, whipping up a transcendent kind of hard line techno for peak time psychedelic abandon. "Grace" is a smoother affair, drenched in gorgeous pads but still strapped to a rocket. This is true uncompromising techno, as steeped in soul as it is science.

Obliquity (9:06)
Emancipate (6:24)
Whispers (6:47)
Review: UK label AER returns with a 3 track EP. Back on the controls is British label boss Miles at the helm, giving us a journey of varying textures. After releases on Aesthetic Audio, ART, Ornate amongst others, Miles esteemed reputation for discerning House & Techno both as a DJ & producer ensure this release is another pure piece of artistry. Not one to compromise, Miles delivers yet again. 'Obliquity' is a dub techno slice of hypnosis! Emancipate gives us a beautiful string rendition amongst haunting lead lines, while 'Whispers' goes beyond the deep, down into ethereal emotive territory, giving the full release a nice snapshot spectrum of this mans work. Superb release.

Heal (8:29)
Plight (8:27)
Review: From his appearances on Aesthetic Audio and Ornate through to his own Atmospheric Existence label, Miles Sagnia continues to be one of the best kept secrets of British deep techno, and that's no more apparent than on this stunning release for Common Dreams. There's a looped up insistence to "Heal", but it's offset by emotive movement in the synth lines and an overall spiritual quality that escapes much cyclical techno. "Plight" takes a slightly slower path, amping up the early UK electronica tones for an immersive experience shaped out by interlocking rhythms and snaking melodies. It's a truly classy statement that stays true to techno while saying something original.

Calling You Out (12:47)
Calling You Out (Josh Wink Paradise Interretation) (7:29)
Review: Miles Atmospheric (real name Miles Sagnia) is a UK-based DJ, producer and label curator at Atmospheric Existence Recordings. He made his debut on the esteemed Bedrock imprint with "Calling You Out" being featured on label chief John Digweed's recent Quattro III mix. The original version is a slinky and hypnotic journey into the aether, as a backdrop to The Apparition's haunting monologue. The rework on the B side comes from legend Josh Wink (Ovum Recordings) and in fact it was his Paradise Dub that was featured on the aforementioned mix by Digweed, here reinterpreted as an ever more entrancing moment to losing yourself under the strobe lights.
