Without resorting to hyperbole, Studio Barnhaus regular Baba Stiltz has yet to release a mediocre record. To date, his releases - think dusty, smoldering deep house blessed with some killer samples - have never been less than excellent. Die Hard+2 - his first EP since the release of debut album Total last autumn - is another fine 12". There's much to admire, from the fuzzy, kick-dominated beats and heart-aching samples of "Dei2", and the piano-heavy, chopped-up bounce of "Born 2 Live", to the eccentric, MPC-style experimental beat science of closer "L is L". In other words, it's another must-have release from Senor Stiltz.
