Newly formed Mancunian Sunday night affair turned label Afficianado continue to impress, an imprint to file alongside the likes of Claremont56 in their strives to maintain the true meaning of Balearic. This third release sees them look to Cardiff and the gentle psychedelic meanderings of Colorama, licensing the wonderfully rich folky gem "Hapus" for 12" issue. The Welsh for happy, there's certainly a sense of calming joy that flushes through you as the rich yet subtle instrumental movements of the band unfold beneath Carwyn Ellis' soothing vocal delivery. If Air grew up in Cardiff you'd imagine their classic debut LP Moon Safari to sound something like this. Local Mancunian producer Begin offers a wonderful rendition on the flip, expertly dubbing it out and introducing a real sense of space without sacrificing the textures of Colorama's original.
