The (Psychedelic) Stooges' 1969 opener, led by Iggy Pop, carved raw, unfiltered grooves with 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' and '1969', shouldering a great cultural weight for its canine portrayals of civil rights unease and shock doctrinal shifts in youth identity. The angst of the era comes further bolstered by photographer Glen Craig's studio snapshots, the best among them documenting Iggy shirtless dancing on session amps. Meanwhile, 'Road To Ruin' marks Marky Ramone's first drum appearance, crafted in a converted Manhattan church. Producer Ed Stasium's notes reveal live studio recording and surprising musical range from punk to pop country on tracks like 'Don't Come Close'.
