Review: While Hell Yeah! Recordings may be best-known these days for exploring the relaxed, sun-kissed world of Balearic beats, the Italian label's early releases were far bolder and more focused on peak-time dancefloors. They're back on that tip on this must-check 12", which comes courtesy of label regular Quiroga (AKA long-serving producer Walter de Vecchio). In its original form (A1), 'Once Again' is a prize chunk of mind-mangling, post acid house sleaze - all rambunctious, brain-melting acid bass, sweat-soaked drums, ultra-psychedelic TB-03 lines and breathless vocal samples. It comes accompanied by two contrasting remixes - the pitched-down, slow acid-with-pianos sunshine of the 'Ambient Mix' and DMX Krew's funky acid-electro pass - and the star-fall electric/nu-disco/acid fusion of the quirky 'Freak The Funk'.

Chiaia Sunset (My Friend Dario remix) (7:31)
Review: Ain't no label out there as Balearic as Hell Yeah, the Italy by way of Berlin imprint run by ever deep digging boss man Marco. He keeps summer vibes alive with another masterfully mature party EP featuring fine remixes of the best moments from QUIROGA's last album, Passages. Jazz N Palms, a resident at Ibiza's Pikes and regular at London's Ronnie Scotts, offers a standout track with lively flutes, bossa-rhythms and tumbling live drums on his take of 'Africa Addio.' My Friend Dario is also in fine form as the fledgling producer contuse to save up sumptuous sounds on his aversion of 'Chiaia Sunse'.

Review: Hell Yeah make music that transports you to a beach side idyll in no time at all. It is music for sunsets, slow dances, boat parties. Music to fall in love to, and with. Not convinced? The latest exhibit is this new double 12" from Naples legend Quiroga. It's been a while - 12 years - since his last album but here he shows that all his delicate musicianship and lovely languid grooves are still irresistible. There are drawn out and cosmic synth modulations, retro synth-pop lullabies and bubbly percussive numbers flecked with worldly rhythms. So, sit back, stick it on and dream of warmer climes.

Cups & Balls (6:08)
Ciao Fischio (3:55)
Citta Di Mare (4:55)
Review: Following releases from the likes of L.U.C.A and Ad Bourke & Rotla, Quiroga makes a welcome return to his own Really Swing helm on this super-smooth disco dreamboat 12". "Cups & Balls" builds with a Latin bass momentum and subtle disco emotion and "Ciao Fischio" takes a splash into the sunset shallow end with lazy beats and dreamy keys. "Citta di Mare" lights the final candle with touching delicacy. Far away organs, forefront breaks and a sense of space so vast you feel you could float away, Quiroga is really on the summertime money right here.

Viaggio A Tulum (6:15)
Non Dire Notte (4:16)
Prati Bagnati (2:18)
Bava (2:10)
Review: Given that Balearic Gabba Sound System are big fans of Walter Del Vecchio's work under the Quiroga alias, it's little surprise to find him popping up on the Hell Yeah label they call home. Like many Napoli-based producers, Del Verchio is a master at joining the dots between languid, synth-heavy Balearica, pitched-down deep house, and the kind of kaleidoscopic electronics that were once the backbone of Italy's dream house movement. All of these elements can be found on superb A-side "Viaggio A Tulum", alongside some blissfully brilliant electric piano flourishes. On the flip, he slows things down to a mind-altering pace on the dubbed-out acid trip-hop of "Non Dire Notte" and presses the button marked "drowsy ambient" on "Prati Bagnati" and closer "Bava".

Jolly Mare - "Afro Sortilegio" (4:28)
PAd - "Notte Nella Savana" (Mondo Bali mix) (5:54)
Quiroga & Dario Bass - "Oasi Nella Giungla" (L'Amaro mix) (4:13)
Paine - "Miraggio" (Desert dub mix) (5:37)
Review: Three years ago, Four Flies Records released a previously unknown album from library music composer Guiliano Sorgini called Africa Oscura - a set of dark, intoxicating instrumentals originally intended to soundtrack documentaries. Now they've decided to get it remixed, with the results being shared over two EPs. There's plenty to admire on this second volume. Jolly Mare step up first with a near perfect Afro-cosmic take on 'Afro Sortilegio'-all tribal percussion, doom-laden bass, funky Clavinet motifs and spacey synth sounds- before PAd [sic] delivers the 'Mondo Bali' mix of 'Notte Nella Savala' -a deep, moody and bass-heavy workout with added delay-laden keys. Elsewhere, Quiroga and Dario Bass reinvent 'Oasi Nella Giungla' is a deep synth-funk warmer, and Paine re-casts 'Miraggio' as a gently but funky Balearic gem.
