Review: A highly limited collectors' re-press of the oddball German funk act who had more monikers than they did releases. Originally released in 1993, this is one of the band's earliest cuts, but their dusty deliver and raw Hammond smashing action give the sweet sensation of the late 60s. "Augusta Georgia" is a frenetic ode to the Brown style of funk while "South Carolina" is powered by a more poignant blues motif. Get it while it's hot!

Review: Let it be said that Shelton has one of the most distinctive voices in soul right now... The perfect amount of grit and full command, she comes at you like a female James Brown and is complemented perfectly by her golden toned backing crew The Gospel Queens. "Sinner" is laid down over a tight Brother Cliff Driver groove that's rich in groove and soft enough in dynamics to allow the band's vocals to really surge through the mix. "Everybody Knows", meanwhile, is a truly unique fusion of country, rhumba and blues where crisp guitars pluck a sturdy rhythm with Caribbean sentiment while Naomi outlays an emphatic narrative. Sinfully good.
