Review: Marking over 16 years as an artist, Robert James unveils his debut album Battle of The Planets. A milestone in any musician’s career, the LP illustrates the breadth of Rob’s tastes and influences, exploring the rugged terrain of planet electronica. Ranging from breaks and electro to house and techno, Battle of The Planets was made during lockdown, a period of creativity and isolation for many artists around the world. Across 10 skillfully produced cuts Rob takes us on an intrepid adventure into the cosmos, where mysterious atmospheres and uplifting melodies sit side by side with captivating dance floor rhythms. Many shades of his personality come through on this album, all tied together by his unique sonic identity; informed by his years spent on the dance floor, behind the decks and in the studio. On Battle of The Planets Robert James presents a distillation of his extensive knowledge and experience into one succinct, highly engaging body of work.

Review: Robert James’ Body Movement label returns with a double-header featuring the bossman himself along with Kolter. Both ‘Planet 90’ and ‘Planet Funk’ are taken from Rob’s forthcoming LP, offering a sneak peak of the full-length project which is due early next year. Meanwhile, Kolter (AKA Djoko) adds his own touch to the release with a couplet that demonstrates why he’s achieved widespread praise at such an early stage in his music career.

Review: Body Movement hits it's 5th release with Matt Farrows One For Bill EP. Matt known to many as Kepler starts the A side running with 3 solid 4/4 house tracks designed to destoy any dancefloor! On the flip we have his more daker electo alias Relpek with two Electro tracks One for Bill and Mind, showing his deeper side to his productions. We think Matt will be a staple name on many lineups in the future and his talent and production skills are shown on this stellar EP.

LESS EP (feat Maher Daniel remix)

Breakbeat
  1. Look Around (6:39)
  2. Eternals (6:16)
  3. Sun Raves (6:30)
  4. Sun Raves (Maher Daniel remix) (7:52)
Review: North Phase is an emergent collaborative project from James Burnham and Robert James, both already well-established in the minimal tech house scene under their own steam. In joining forces they're turning their focus towards breakbeat, having already appeared on Pilot opposite Kolter. This time around, they're going it alone with three original bombs of rolling breaks honed into a sharp, DJ-friendly unit. 'Look Around' is the big, chunky workout in contrast to the crafty, organ-licked touch of 'Eternals'. 'Sun Raves' meanwhile takes things into deep, evocative territory and comes off as the strongest track on the record in the process. So much so, Maher Daniel stepped up to remix it and turned it into a sparkling electro-breaks turn for sweet and spiritual sesh heads.
