Review: The third album by Parisian trio Moody Moon is a vitreous ten-tracker spanning all their usual hallmarks: gothic dream pop, alt-rock, and two more relatively self-starting coinages, sky wave and surf psych, all combining to produce the feeling of being left out in the contemporary cold. With frankly effected, almost bare-naked vocals, channelled through inner-monologuing lyrics shared between multiple members and a papery approach to production, this is a vulnerable album, perverting many of the most established norms and expectations that abound in alt-pop music today, especially in its retro-future-gothic stylistic milieu.

Review: Film buffs will be smitten by this blood-splattered vinyl copy of The Godfather Trilogy's soundtrack, performed by The City Of Prague's Philharmonic Orchestra, interpreting Nino Rota's original works. Across two discs spanning 19 original pieces - from 'The Godfather Waltz', to the infamous establishing scene dreamlike of the Sicilian landsacpe, for which 'Sicilian Pastorale' sets the mood - this rendition is almost certainly an offer you can't refuse.

Review: Here's an all-time classic to kick back and roll a fat one to. 1996 was a landmark time for trip-hop and downtempo, and alongside DJ Shadow's Endtroducing came this silky smooth delight from Japanese turntablist maestro DJ Krush and jazz trumpeter Toshinori Kondo. Smoky beats and laconic chord licks form the perfect backdrop to Kondo's muted trumpet, and the mood just unfurls from the get-go in a brilliant reimagining of what lounge jazz could be in the fusion-fuelled 1990s. It's a benchmark which has been often imitated and rarely bettered, more than worthy of a remaster and repress on double vinyl.

Review: Emmy award winning composer Ramin Djawadi has an endless slew of projects under his name such as Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, Iron Man as well as television series including Prison Break and Westworld. That name nowadays is most synonymous, however, with the iconic Game Of Thrones score, which makes his work on the House Of The Dragon prequel series a no-brainer. Bombastic, modern classical orchestrations utilising era-specific folk instrumentation, compositionally reflecting the geographies of fictitious nations, it's all here at the remarkably grandiose standard set by its predecessor.

Review: Kilo Kish (aka Kish Robinson) is an interdisciplinary artist and performer who has worked with Vince Staples, Miguel, Jean Dawson and Jesse Boykins III and this, her sophomore album. It's a psychedelic piece of pop art with infectious hooks and industrial beats that muses on the issues of identity, status, and race. The production is often maximalist in a fun 80s fashion with ice-cold staccato raps, self-assured bars and playful elements that keep you locked. This first pressing comes on special transparent blue vinyl via Diggers Factory.

Review: Redveil aka Marcus Morton is an up-and-coming American MC and rapper and last year he dropped his Learn 2 Swim album. It became a cult classic almost immediately after release and after two early versions - one purple, one blue - sold out and started fetching high prices, Digger's Factory have got this latest back version out. During the writing of the record, Redveil took inspiration from drill music and local DMV area rappers and cooked up his own take on hip hop and jazz-rap. As well as the great penmanship and wordplay, Morton also took care of the production himself on this one. A fine debut with no doubt much more to come from him in future.

Review: Way back in 2000, dub heavyweight Scientist got his mitts on the parts to Culture's 199 album 'Payday'. The resultant radical dub revisions were, somewhat predictably, brilliant - as this belated CD reissue of the classic set emphatically proves. As critics pointed out at the time, it's arguably far more of a Scientist album than a Culture one, with the latter's delay and reverb-laden vocals (plus some snippets of his backing band's instrumentation) seemingly bobbing and weaving around weighty basslines and echo-laden dub drums. The plentiful highlights include the brilliantly spaced-out 'Beam Me Up Dubby', the deep, driving and horn-heavy 'Intergalactic Excursion' and the thrillingly heavy and abstract 'E Equals MC Squared'.

Review: For the first time ever, this new silver vinyl release combines the iconic music from all the three Hobbit films into a comprehensive collection all masterfully performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Howard Shore's award-winning compositions for this as well as The Lord of the Rings trilogy have captivated audiences worldwide, often accompanied by live film screenings. The meticulous attention to detail in bringing Tolkien's world to life through music is legendary, incorporating diverse musical styles and instruments to evoke the rich landscapes and characters of Middle-earth. From 'Song Of The Lonely Mountain' to 'Protector Of The Common Folk', this journey through cinematic composing is truly extraordinary.

Review: The most beautiful themes of the famous science fiction universe Star Wars created by the American director George Lucas are now gathered together on this exclusive vinyl record. First conceived as a cinematic trilogy in 1977, the franchise now counts films, series, novels and other goodies taking place «a long time ago in a galaxy far far away» in which a conflict between Jedi knights and Sith warriors is forever waged. The infamous soundtrack composed by John Williams, notably inspired by Wagner's operas, has gone on to influence the greatest of film musics and is veritably etched into the brains of anyone who's ever set foot inside a cinema. On this majestic record, the soundtrack's star pieces are herd performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. May the force be with you!

His sold-out Bae series is now brought back on wax as Diggers Factory and the Future Funk artist combine to fans delight. Review: Yung Bae is the alias of Dallas Cotton, a Los Angeles-based producer with influences that include disco, r&b and Japanese City Pop. He had already proven his capabilities over the past two years, but his album Bae 3 really shows off his mastery in making A-grade funk. There's the boogie-down vibe of 'Back To The Classics', the neon-lit night moves of 'If You Want It', as well as the low slung mood music of 'All Night' and the upbeat horns-driven dancefloor heater 'Fantasy' being just of the highlights.

B4E is an album he dropped back in 2018 following Skyscraper Anonymous, BAE 2, BA3 and Bae: Side B, all in 2016. He has always mixed up future funk, vapourware adjacent sounds, boogie, disco and soul, most often self-releasing his tunes via online platforms. This album now makes its way to vinyl and we couldn't be happier - it is delightfully bright and colourful with irresistible vocals and hooks across ten life-affirming tunes.

Review: Let's face it, Hollywood director Christopher Nolan broke the mould with his re-envisioning of Batman. Taking things closer to the original comic books, themselves forced to 'go soft' by censors in the early-1950s, his films payed direct tribute to the saga's direction from the mid-1970s onwards. A trilogy of movies that were visually arresting, tonally dystopian, and viciously unhinged. It's not clear if we'll ever get a superhero (or anti-hero) film series of that class and calibre again, the world on screen so immersive you quickly feel like a Gotham native. A big part of that universe-building comes through the music, which enlists two of the greatest names in the history of soundtracks to help weave the tales. Hans Zimmer has composed for more than 150 films, James Newton Howard in excess of 100. This compilation of their shared caped crusader efforts proves why they're so well respected.
