Connecting With The Lama (7:08)
Silence Has Come (7:26)
Finally I've Met You (6:13)
Given Brain (8:11)
Review: Sicilian producer Toto Chiavetta returns after some great releases on the likes of Yoruba and Ibadan. Appearing on labels like such, you'd think hi-tech soul would be his forte; quite fitting then that he appears here for top merchants of the sound: Innervisions. On "Connecting With The Lama" we hear his penchant for futurist Afro vibes, while the title track explores suspenseful, deep house journeys much like label bosses Ame have done over the years. "Finally I've Met You" is a lush deep techno journey featuring steel texture atmospheres, complex polyrhythms and rich uplifting melodies, while "Given Brain" goes for something much darker and mysterious with its rusty rhythms and EBM style arpeggio.

Sketch 7 (7:23)
Sketch 17 (6:28)
Sketch 1 (8:50)
Review: Chris Barratt's outings as Eagles & Butterflies have been amongst the most celebrated melodious tech-house releases of the last few years, particularly those he's served up on the Art Imitating Life label he established in 2016. Given this track record, it's little surprise to see his latest EP appear in Dixon and Ame's mighty Innervisions imprint. Check first the blissful dancefloor breeziness of "Sketch 7", where deliciously positive, lo-fi synth riffs dance in the moonlight above unfussy beats, darting analogue bass and crystalline chords, before cupping an ear in the direction of "Sketch17", where classic, '80s style electronic motifs and Harold Faltermeyer-esque electronics gradually rise above a solid tech-house backing track. "Sketch 1" continues a similar theme, with Barratt making great use of spellbinding, saucer-eyed chords and some ragged but melodic acid lines.

Our Last Night (feat Mironas) (7:15)
Different Versions Of Your Love (7:04)
Review: We are living in the post-Innervisions dance world, long after the dust has settled on the hype and hysteria drummed up both by the label itself, and tastemaking publications on its behalf at the turn of the last decade. But that doesn't mean for a second the imprint's quality control, and ear for exceptional deep, synthy dancefloor stuff has waned - it's just a case of trends moving on.

And when trends move on it usually improves what's left behind, en vogue often leading to an endless stream of great pretenders and tired replicas. Night Versions, the latest EP from Thessaloniki-based Greek producer Echonomist is a great case in point. Packing two tracks of coldwave-infused house, from the broken, trapped energy vibes of 'Our Last Night', to the dark twisted vocals of 'Different Versions of Your Love', it's all fresh enough to make you forget just how much we've heard from this camp before.

I Don't Want To Watch You Read (Golden Filter remix) (7:21)
Silver Siding (4:58)
I Don't Want To Watch You Read (Red Axes remix) (8:39)
Review: Talk about a transformation; former Minus mainstay and minimal stalwart Marc Houle goes from ping-pong beats and hiccuping rhythms to this deep, 80s-referencing house release. " Don't Want To Watch You Read" is a mesmerising affair, centred on a booming bass and featuring a mysterious vocal that is similar to the one that featured on Brian Kage's record on FXHE earlier this year. There is a reference to Houle's minimal past on the rushing sirens of the Golden Filter remix of "Read", but in the main this is a radical departure. The title track is a pulsing electronic disco affair, while the Red Axes remix of "Read" is an epic, EBM-fueled reshape.

Leaving The Comfort Zone (9:24)
Between The Notes (8:33)
Review: Given his previous productivity, Andre Lodemann has been rather quiet of late, with his last release of note being the Coming My Way EP on DFTD in 2014. Here, he hits back hard, dropping an impressive two-tracker for Dixon's increasingly dark Innervisions outlet. While virtual flipside "Between The Notes" is particularly stripped back and wonky - think 10 minutes of throbbing, minimal-influenced grooves, epic builds and, eventually, spine tingling backwards strings - it's title track "Leaving The Comfort Zone" that really hits the spot. While similarly stretched-out in mindset, it's altogether tougher, and the minor key melodies a little spookier. It's also rather psychedelic, despite the presence of what sounds like a sly guitar sample from Odyssey's version of "Going Back To My Roots".

Flashback (feat Diel) (8:41)
Way Out (7:11)
Fake Eldorado (2:43)
Review: The mysterious Nuiton is the latest recruit to have the honour bestowed upon him/her to release on house music's most highly lauded label. Starting off with the rolling minimal techno workout of "Flashback" complete with high pitched toms, shuffling rhythm and hypnotic melody, beneath Diel's bizarre monologue of random words. On the flip is the deep techno epic "Way Out" with its intergalactic bassline and hissing high-hats keeping the groove in reductionist territory until yet another monologue dealing with alternate realities comes.. before a killer drop. "Fake Eldorado" is a gorgeous Flamenco flavoured track that clocks in at just over two minutes.

Rampa & WhoMadeWho - "Tell Me Are We" (6:56)
Lavender Boogie (7:20)
Review: Keinemusik co-founder Gregor Sutterlin AKA Rampa is the latest addition to the Innervisions roster. His debut EP for the imprint is dancefloor-friendly and for the most part club ready, but also slightly more experimental and off-kilter in ethos than you'd perhaps expect from Ame and Dixon's long-running label. Check first the non-stop A-side suite of tracks, where the oddball electronics and effects-laden looped vocals of "79249 (Intro)" seamlessly segues into the ghostly lead lines, thrusting arpeggio bass, creepy effects and locked-in techno drums of "They Will". Radiohead-influenced vocal number "Tell Me Are We" is a glassy-eyed outsider tech-house collaboration with WhoMadeWho, while "Lavender Boogie" is a richly percussive affair rich in ice cream van chimes, dense African percussion and hushed tech-house tones.

Hall Of Violence (7:24)
Bimma (6:16)
Fluke (6:41)
Review: Hi tech soul powerhouse Innervisions continues to surprise us. From Marc Houle and Culoe De Song, to Eagles & Butterflies and now fellow Berliner and Keinemusik boss Rampa with the impressive "Hall Of Violence EP. This legend of the scene (real name Gregor Sutterlin) has gone on to release great tracks with studio partner Re.You of late: which many would be familiar with. The mesmerising and evocative title track truly nails the label's vibe; from the rich analogue arpeggios, elevating strings and general retro-futurist tendencies. On the flip, "Bimma" has more adrenaline and even more dancefloor drama to boot on this Afro infused epic, until "Fluke" hammers the message home gloriously with this dark journey track that'll make even the Life & Death camp up their game!

Jim Jams
Review: Having previously impressed with the robust On Acid on Absurd/Acid Test, and more thoughtful Hinterland on Ghostly International, Recondite transfers to Innervisions for this third full-length excursion. The German producer seems to be in a particularly introspective mood on Iffy, delivering tracks that variously explore deep, spacious techno (see "Baro"), evocative deep house and bittersweet electronica. For all the sparse rhythms and clandestine atmospherics, there's plenty of picturesque moments, from the unfurling beauty of "Konter" and glacial downtempo shuffle of "Steady", to the tear-jerking shimmer of "Jim Jams" and gorgeous "Levo". As a result, it's probably his strongest set to date.

Osa (5:10)
Andever (5:54)
Nock (7:23)
Review:  Master magician Lorenz Brunner is back as Recondite on Innervisions serving up three perfectly executed dark journey tracks for maximum dancefloor drama. Starting out with the brooding mystery groove of "Osa" whose sombre yet razor sharp melodics guide you down the abyss, he's then on to "Andever" which is a bit more uplifting with some bass driven deepness and haunting bell melodies reminiscent somewhat of the classic sound of German imprint Dial. Finally "Nick" hammers the message home in esoteric and transcendental fashion with its epic and wandering arpeggio backed by trancey atmosphere engineered for total dancefloor bliss.

Come Together (7:29)
Omnibus (7:20)
Review: It's been 10 years since Henrik Schwarz last graced Innervisions with his widescreen take on dance music, and he's returning to his old stomping ground with the kind of cinematic strokes we'd expect from both artist and label. The drama is palpable at every turn in "Come Together", but it's especially driven by the bold arrangements of choral voices striking a tone somewhere between doomsday and the second coming. "Omnibus" is a strikingly beautiful big room brooder led by plaintive lead lines and a forthright sense of urgency, unfurling further musical figures at every 16 bars and plotting a course for the stars in the process.

Dawn Of A New Day (6:54)
Sound Of The Sun (8:29)
Time Of Light (5:13)
Baba Himalaya (5:58)
Review: Through his albums and singles on Yoruba Records, Mike Steva has established a reputation as a fine proponent of what he calls "international house" - a style that combines deep, soulful and tech-house sounds with instrumentation, percussion and rhythms from around the World. Here he brings that distinctive brand of open-minded dancefloor musicality to Innervisions for the first time. Check first the sampled birdsong, nagging electronic riffs and Osunlade-inspired tech-house grooves of 'Dawn of a New Day', before admiring the locked-in beats, hazy synth stabs and surprising Spanish guitar riffs of 'Sound of the Sun', arguably the EP's standout moment. Elsewhere, 'Time of Light' is a more raw-sounding slab of tech-house hedonism, while 'Baba Himalaya' is a sublime blend of African-inspired percussion, Indian vocal chants and Marimba style melodies.

Florista (7:07)
Veneno (5:48)
Mozam (7:02)
Wandance (dub) (7:24)
Review: Portuguese producer Trikk has enjoyed a hugely successful year in 2016, delivering well regarded EPs on Lossless and Optimo Trax. Predictably, this first outing for Dixon and Ame's long-established Innervisions imprint is also rather good. While the hushed, late night shuffle of "Veneno" sticks rigidly to the label's established tech-house template, the EP's other three tracks are decidedly different. Opener "Florista", for example, makes merry with military style drum fills, whistling melody lines and cascading marimba hits, while "Mozam" sits somewhere between tribal-influenced deep house, trippy techno, and the new age wooziness of Young Marco. Arguably best of all, though, is stretched-out closer "Wandance (Dub)", which is little less than spellbinding.

Moorthon II (8:55)
Kleiner Vogel (7:48)
Review: One third of Innervisions, one half of Ame and The Howling and one of the all round modern greats of techno and house music. Under his own name for the first time, Frank Wiedemann unleashes more sure-fire and emotive dancefloor intelligence on The Moorthon EP. Starting out with the soulful tech house bounce of "Moorthon II" he gets more on the vibe you know him for ie: moody and epic with "Kleiner Vogel" with its dark strings, wonky synth leads and adrenalised rhythm. But he saves the best for last on the bittersweet techno-soul of "Moorthon I" featuring some immaculate programming and truly stunning synth textures from a true master of the sound.
