Review: Berlin based Denis Kaznacheev is a Russian artist who makes slick minimal techno, but he is also embroiled in a legal battle. It is alleged that he has been involved in money laundering and dark web activities and has been arrested by German authorities who are trying to extradite him to the United States to face trial. He maintains his innocence, and this label has been set up to raise funds in order to try and help him. Musically, it's deft and detailed tech with hooky drum loops and wonky synth sounds designed to be heard on hi class sound systems. The A-side track is the first to use is own voice, and the flip was written just before his arrest.

Review: With his unfortunate legal dramas still looming, it's great to hear Russian DJ/producer Denis Kaznacheev nonetheless getting back into the studio to grace our ears with more of his singular minimalist grooves. This new one inaugurates the GEMiNii imprint, based on a series of parties taking place in Berlin's legendary Club der Visionaere club since 2019. 'Lovestronomy' nails that Sunday morning CDV style rather well on this deep, woozy and utterly hypnotic cut. More lean and subtle tackle awaits on the flip, in the form of 'Vivid Memories' where the Nervmusic co-chief ventures into moodier and abstract territory. Tip!

Review: Tunisian imprint Danzha made an impressive debut with the first volume of this series but then went rather quiet. Now, more than two years later, it is finally back with a second volume. Maieutics II is another various artists affair offering up plenty of new names. Denis Kaznacheev's 'The Banach Tarski Paradox' is a dubby minimal marcher with alien life forms weaving in and out in the dead of night. Matt Star's 'Elephant Chair' then gets more trippy with its wonky motifs and daubs of synth. On the flip, Root's 'Palomino' is deep, tight, clipped and frictionless tech and then the machines take over for the futuristic soundscape of Amin Ravelle's 'Vaila.' Plenty of occult musical personality makes this an EP well worth checking.

Review: Sounds of Sirius continues to shine a light on its native New Zealand with a tidy new tech house two tracker. Both of these are epic efforts that unfold over more than 13 minutes on each side. 'Sheba's Party' opens up with deep rolling drums and warped bass that twist the mind as jazzy hi-hats dance over the top. On the flip, 'Shipshape Shoeshop' gets more glitchy, with cut-up samples, tin-pot sounds, fizzing synths and off-grid beats making for future machine music with a soul of its own.

Review: Inaugurating new imprint Doxall is Russian enfant terrible Denis Kaznacheev with his idiosyncratic brand of reductionist minimal funk. The Nervmusic co-head (and one half of Easy Changes) does what he truly does best on his new offering "Jelly Dancing". It's a boompty and shuffling minimal house jam that's perfect tackle for messing with minds at a Sunday morning afterhours. On the flip, the always impressive Bed Vedren from Paris (Reduce/Minibar/Prospector) delivers a more energetic and hi-tech rendition suited to the main room, but nonetheless harnessing that same understated feel of the original. Tip!

Review: Spaced-aged funk peppered with glitchy asteroid turbulence and trippy spikes in the space time continuum; Denis is back on Grow and it's extensive business from the off. "Humulene" weighs in at a beautiful mass of 14 minutes allowing it all to hang out and roll as you weave it in and out of the mix at your leisure. "Terpenoid Content" follows the same lengthy suit but with more emphasis on the lower end dubby majesty of it all.

Review: Grow returns with the record Isotelus Rex by Denis Kaznacheev, complete with a remix by Daze Maxim. The title track Isotelus Rex, a 14 minute work, true to grow's eccentric nature, a track at once playful and deeply neurally stimulating, sure to shake one's body and intrigue one's mind. Wonderful decaying tones, subtly jazzy, intricate electronic communications interrelate over an irresistible bass and percussive performance, a groove which will make your swing. B1 is Daze Maxim's remix, with a more ethereal approach to Isotelus Rex, it begins through a beautiful synth. Then grows a fast and intricate bass arrangement, providing a confidently vibed way though the cosmic landscape, also another great track for the dance floor, as the same physical swing as in original is felt strong. B2 Proetida, the second original work by Denis Kaznacheev of the release, is of raw, almost rude, attitude, a strong bass descends in steps, a determined momentum, the driving force of an industrious process.

Review: Denis Kaznacheev is Nervmusic records co-founder and one half of the duo Easy Changes. Born in Siberia, he's based in Berlin these days and has also released on Cabanne's Minibar and Lowris' Aeternum: so you know what you're in for before taking a listen to his new one. This is for Amaniel out of Spain, who presented a great release by Luc Ringeisen last time around. On "My Own Garden" it's deep and hypnotic minimal house with trippy microsamples and warm/pulsating bass tones that rolls along subtly; perfect for afterhours shenanigans. The remix on the flip by Franco Cinelli keeps on with the same reductionist vibe, just as weird and experimental. Basically, it's another version that will equally appeal to the Sunday afternoon zombies aboard the Hoppetosse.

Review: Hamid's H+ (HPLS) label continues to plough a furrow into the freakiest corners of the minimal scene, keeping the spirit of labels like Telegraph and Minibar alive with off-kilter beats, freaky sampling and wayward synth work from lesser known operators. G76 is up on the A side with the wonky wonders of "Father", packing some seriously squelchy monosynth bass and plenty of beat trickery to wriggle under the skin of the most deviant dancers. H+DK (Hamid and Denis Kaznacheev) tackle the B-side with "Tachtagol Connection", keeping the drums as slender as possible and using a sweet but subtle pad as the focus of the track. It's a simple approach, but utterly effective.

Review: The latest transmission on the ever-adventurous Nervmusic features label boss (and one half of Easy Changes) Denis Kaznacheev delving into some interesting corners of the minimal market with a sizable legacy within the scene to draw upon. Leading the charge is "It Has Two Ends", which works a sample about smoking joints around a rich tapestry of wonky percussion and found sound, before Rhadoo steps up for a remix that piles some delicate melodies and a more pronounced groove into the track. Adsum takes things further out West with a version that revels in dislocated delay feedback and squirming rhythmic pulses, leaving EP closer "Run Forest, Run" sounding positively soothing by comparison with its sparse arrangement and humming background tones.
