Robotika EP
Cat: PRRUKBLK 119. Rel: 24 Jan 25
Pulse (5:33)
Robotika (5:16)
Madafaka (5:17)
Practik (5:07)
Review: JSPRV35 delivers a powerhouse of tribal techno, helping to solidify Planet Rhythm's reputation further for percussive excellence. Side-1 opens with 'Pulse', a high-energy tribal track that masterfully blends addictive loops with relentless beats, perfect for igniting a dancefloor. The title track, 'Robotika,' shifts gears with its alien, sci-fi textures, crafting an otherworldly vibe. Side-2 ups the intensity with 'Madafaka', a wickedly hard techno banger that packs a punch with its raw power and unyielding drive. Closing out the EP, 'Practik' channels the loopy brilliance of icons like Ignition Technician, Glenn Wilson and Hardcell with hypnotic rhythms and expertly layered production. A thrilling journey through the darker, tribal side of techno, offering both technical precision and unrelenting energy.

Identity Malfunction
Identity Malfunction (clear vinyl 12")
Cat: ELECTRO 001. Rel: 13 Mar 25
Slytherin (4:57)
Science (5:34)
Identity Malfunction (4:56)
Cybotronik (5:20)
Review: Almost every 21st century techno fan likely knows about or has experienced an identity crisis at some point, if not for the sheer fact of the music's inherently destabilising quality. But Jsprv35 dares to go further with the concept, likening human identity to sheer mechanistic function. The 'Identity Malfunction' EP is the logical result of this philosophy, with brooding titles like 'Cybotronik' and 'Science' fast-tracking heller electro and breaks to the robot ears of us lossless techno fan clones. The title track is obviously the glitching highlight; we can't tell if that's a strained robot voice sandwiched between the impacts, or mere the electric gargling of corrupt quantum circuitry, but we also love that we can't tell.

TAR V35
TAR V35 (12")
Cat: TAR V35. Rel: 06 Jun 24
Pacific (4:50)
Pimp (5:07)
Prolix (5:14)
Retry (5:14)
Review: No-nonsense fast techno jank from the Netherlands' Jsprv35. 'Tar V35' could take its name from anything from a newly discovered exoplanet to an industrial strength vacuum cleaner at the design and prototyping stage; clearly, it's not the nominal content but the sonic form that this record takes that makes it so beguiling. 'Pacific', 'Pimp', 'Prolix' and 'Retry' are like murderous factor-colossi gone rogue; their many-limbed, many-belted extensions firing off in all directions as they slowly, but repetitiously and surely gain sentience. Only the tricksy final track is any let-up, although even it functions as a worthy underfloor-heater in its own right.

Echo (5:05)
Fear (5:34)
Gras (5:10)
Trapped (5:28)
Review: JSPRV35's TAR 024 offers four tracks of underground grooves, delivering an intense and aggressive techno sound. Released by Tar Hallow Netherlands, this record showcases a raw and unfiltered approach to the genre. Side-1 starts off with 'Echo,' characterised by its heavy techno beats and fast percussion. The relentless energy and old-school rave vibe transport listeners straight to a warehouse party. Following is 'Fear,' a track reminiscent of the 90s style techno, drawing comparisons to the sounds of Surgeon or Regis. On Side 2, 'Gras' captivates with its addictive, tribal beats, creating a rhythmic and engaging atmosphere. The EP concludes with 'Trapped,' a hard-rolling track that dives deep into subterranean underground techno. TAR 024 by JSPRV35 stands out for its unyielding and authentic techno sound while the blend of heavy beats, tribal rhythms and old school influences ensures a powerful listening.

Review: Young Dutch talent JSPRV35 presents the second EP from Global Pulse in the form of the Kyoto EP, a standout exploration of pure and unfiltered techno. Channelling his constant flow of creative energy, JSPRV35 delivers a collection that brings techno back to its roots as he cooks up minimalistic soundscapes with a fast-paced rhythm. UUUU 02 (12")
Cat: UUUU 02. Rel: 05 Dec 24
JSPRV35 - "Testing" (5:16)
JSPRV35 - "Funktional" (5:34)
Line O - "Thelle" (5:26)
Line O - "Layer One" (5:14)
Review: JSPRV35 and Line-o hook up for this thrilling split EP on the new but impressive label For You out of the Netherlands. JSPRV35 is first out of the blocks with 'Testing' which is some high-octane and classically inclined techno with punchy low ends and scintillating percussion. 'Funktional' is just that but is not devoid of character with its mechanical loops and bleeping synths. Line O's 'Thelle' is bristling, linear and loopy techno for 5 am wig-outs and 'Layer One' shuts down with dubby undercurrents and menacing pads that are constantly on the creep.
