Review: Greek label Acid Cuts continues to serve up its unique 8" offerings with lashings of great acid sounds on each one. This 18th helping comes from Acidaloius and opens with 'Family 83', a meandering acid line weaves in and out of jacked up, early Chicago house drums. It's dark and direct but has plenty of mystery in the distant synth work. The highlight of this particular package though is the flipside 'Korma' with its pinging kicks and clipped sense of techno funk. It is again run through with a soft acid line and makes for a nice fresh take on the sound.

Review: Polish label Moonshine Recordings kicks off a new series that is helmed for the first time by Bukkha. It's a potent two tracker that opens with 'Planet I-N-I' which is a heavily dubbed out cut with bottomless subs and ice cold hits, tons of reverb and ricochetting sounds as well as some dub-wise vocals that drift in and out to heady effect. On the flip side is 'Night Out' (feat Roger Robinson), another smooth, serene and hypnotic dub techno cut marbled with static and vinyl crackle as well as some pensive words from Robinson. Both of these need to be heard as loud as can be for maximum impact.

Review: Techno arriving on 7" is not an all too common sight, but why not? This release from the fledgling Dispari out of Germany suggests it works well. Cloud Management and Gavsborg take one side each, starting with the former. Their 'Tempentary Dance' pairs thudding and broken kick drum patterns with dreamy and rising synth sequences and spoken words. It's brilliantly beguiling. The flip then finds Gavsborg offering 'Did Not Make This For Jah_9' (feat Shanique Marie) which is dark and moody, dubbed out and dystopian deep techno.

Review: Techno doesn't often come on 7" but do not let that put you off this superb new drop from Bump'n'Grind. It features dub techno legend Deadbeat in fine form across two devastating cuts. A-side 'Ark Welders Dub' is a menacing and prowling track with a picked bassline and smeared chords to add real depth and weight. It's one to foster a heads down mood on the dancefloor, while emotional release comes in the form of the flip side. 'This Bitter Dub' is a more sparse sounds with hissing hi-hats skating over the drums while bittersweet synths and an aching blues vocal ring out up top.

Review: Anton Klint first came to our attention thanks to a handful of EP's that he dropped on Munich's Public Possession label, but while we were already big fans of the imprint's work, it was Klint's singular take on house and disco that attracted us. This latest two-tracker comes via Sweden's IDEAL label, and the producer offers something a little darker and more experimental compared to his previous escapades. "Personalmote" is a fuzzy, broken tune that verges on house but never quite fully rids itself of a tribal, stepping kind of vibe. On the other hand, "Efter Stangning" churns and drives away at a more classic deep house level, but Klint nevertheless injects a noticeable layer of something altogether more exotic. Twisted, dystopian house beats would be the best way to some this up.

Review: On only his second EP, this young artist from Vienna shows a sharp ear for atmosphere and weight. The A-side opens with 'Africa Inna (dub)', a slow-burning cut that feels steeped in roots but shaped for modern ears. It moves with purpose, grounded by a heavy low-end and rich, rolling chord echoes that seem to stretch out into the distance. There's a real sense of space here, the kind of low-slung groove that pulls you in. Turn to the other side and 'Dub Poetry' takes things a step further. The mix is full of texture, with sharp details and unusual elements tossed into the fog. It feels deliberate but loose, like the track is breathing in its own rhythm. The echo is everywhere, bouncing around a spoken word message that leans into the deeper side of life. There's a clear vision running through both tracks, nodding to tradition while still carving out something personal. Dub is the foundation, but the perspective feels fresh and alive.

Review: Regis is the founder of one of techno's most influential and uncompromising labels, Downwards Records. His inimitable hard techno sound, and collaborations with Surgeon as British Murder Boys, have cemented his legacy as the definition of the Birmingham techno. Luke Lund is one of the Finland's fastest rising young composers, with the ability to move seamlessly between the marshes of dark hop to the silkiness of deep techno. His own Terranean Recordings label has been fearlessly documenting the Finnish underground and beyond since 2010. King Pin Frankie is treasure untold - a live Regis recording from New Year's Eve 1997 in Chicago. Pounding classic minimal TR 909 with an accelerating/decelerating arppegiator make this A side a serious find, with distorted synth moving platforms occurring as the track winds out. TIP! Luke's Scourge is an electronic composition masterpiece - pinning a straight kick underneath a shifting snare, leaving the question open - is it techno? Is it dark hop? Review: When launching Jeff Thompson and co-producer Eqwel's Amalgamated Metals series of seven-inch singles earlier in the year, Sacred Rhythm chief Joaquin 'Joe' Clausell warned that a number of releases would be needed to, in his words, "harden the strongest solder possible to resist the corrosive nature of tasteless dance music". Release number two is certainly sturdily soldered, with A-side 'Gallium' delivering a forthright blend of galloping, metallic drum hits, hissing cymbals and spooky, otherworldly synth sounds. 'Iron Ferrum' is strikingly different, with distant-sounding metallic noises disappearing underneath a thick, beat-free coat of bubbly acid lines and immersive ambient chords.

Review: Acid Cuts is only young but already has amassed an impressive discography of contemporary techno. The sixth outing comes from Varonos and starts with mind-melting acid-laced techno stomper with thunderous stabs adding to the tension. After the even more raw Beats version comes 'Caliber' which is more minimal and loopy but soon builds inescapable tension that disorientates your mind from your body. 'Hordes' then cuts loose with visceral acid lines and the sounds of a spacecraft taking off over sizzling beats.

Review: Sattaoja is back on its industrial wonklectro business, offering up yet two more heads-downers from Beau Wanzer. Strictly limited to just 200 copies, this janker is a top-level misanthropic mood, with opener 'Human Hunters' playing back like the driven and unrelenting inner monologue of a too-far-gone cyborg predator turned human bloodsport player. The comparatively whimsical feel of 'Juiced In Florida' is sparser but more energetic, offering eyebrow-raising acid highs and subtle clave taps, neither of which can possibly be turned down for the world, be it human or alien-invaded.

Review: Sven Wesiemann has long been obsessed with the deeper end of the electronic spectrum whether crafting tech, house or dub. It is the latter which he turns his attention to here with a pair of devastatingly deep cuts for Freund Der Familie. 'Sea Of Sentiments' kicks off at a snail's pace with hissing hi hats snaking off into the distance, occasion hits and unhurried bass way down below. 'Azuma' on the flipside of this tasty 7" is another perfectly sub-aquatic, grainy cut rich in atmosphere with molten pads, deft shards of light penetrating the surface and muttered vocals adding emotion.
