Review: Israeli tech house stalwart Shlomi Aber has sure thrown a few curveballs at us in recent years and this could possibly be the biggest yet! The man behind such celebrated titles over the years such as 'Detroit Days/Chicago Nights', 'Sea Of Sand' and 'Clones In My Backroom' moves away from sunny and slinky tech house sounds (as heard on his esteemed Be As One imprint) and now presents a darker, fierce and functional sound that's more suited to clandestine warehouse parties. Adam Beyer's Drumcode seems like a perfect fit for his new style, which has recently impressed via similarly straight up labels like Odd Even and Figure. From the tunnelling peak-time specialism of opener "Inflict", the old-school acid stomp of "Accelerator" (which really bangs the box!) and the stripped back, heads down Millisan hypnotism of 'Typeface', these are some sturdy mixing tools that will make a worthy addition to any serious techno DJ's arsenal.

ADHS - "Razor" (6:52)

Marco Faraone - "Dream" (7:04)
Gary Beck - "Ship Went Down" (5:46)
Review: Gargantuan-room techno trailblazers Drumcode return with 'The A Sides Vol 11 - Pt. 7'. If the title is any indicator enough - and no, it's not irony - this is a stonking closer to a mammoth seven-12" compilation series. The love-em-or-hate-em label always deliver a rave romp for titans, barging past polite types with frick-off bits from A.D.H.S., Julian Jewell, Marco Faraone and Gary Beck. Topping off a project originally conceived in 2012, this is a pulsing sensation suitable for both budding techno enthusiasts and chinstokers willing to let their hair loose for once.

Pentatonic (5:54)
The Truth (6:21)
Dream Taker (5:52)
Review: Glasgow based DJ and producer Harvey McKay is up next for Drumcode, with a bit of help from his brother Ryan here as Alias. This will be his fourth release for Drumcode since making his debut for the label back in 2013 with the terrific Lost EP. A staple of such esteemed imprints as Soma, Suara and Bedrock in recent times, the Visions EP is packed full of perfect big room bangers: much like you'd expect from the guy. Kicking off with the industrial strength stomp of "Pentatonic" which is stripped right down to the bone and full of "Spastik" style snare rolls, "The Truth" then gets some Robert Hood style adrenalised cyclicity going on. Finally on the flip, we've got dark and slamming tool techno of "Dream Taker" that goes straight for the jugular. A grinding, hypnotic and downright riveting thriller for the peak time.

Third Eye (7:24)
Review: Last year, Berlin-based Italian Ilario Alicanti pitched up on Drumcode for the very first time, following nine years spent building up his reputation via releases on some of European techno's best-loved labels. Figures & Echoes marks his return to the high profile Swedish imprint and begins with one of his most intense and energetic compositions yet: the throbbing, acid-fired, arpeggio-driven darkness of "Figure of RA". "The Acid Runner", a foreboding and panicked stomp through jacking acid house/big room techno follows, before fuzzy, ghostly and otherworldly motifs dance around a tribal techno groove on "Virgo's Echoes". A fine EP is completed via the creepy, sprinting-away-from-a-mugger-at-4am techno thump of "Third Eye".

Simina Grigoriu - "Flight Tracker" (6:14)
Adam Beyer - "Heading South" (6:25)
LAAT - "The Age Of Juno" (6:05)
Review: Mighty European powerhouse Drumcode rolls out more of its techno tsunamis here with part one of the 12th volume of its A Sides collection. The boss himself, Adam Beyer, offers up one of the biggest cuts - 'Heading South' is a surging, straight-up techno weapon rippled with deft synths that ever forever on the move. Danny Avila's 'My Crew' (feat Flowdan) is built on a foundation of earth-shattering kicks and rolling bass with hellish stabs and vocal fragments making for an intense atmosphere, and Simina Grigoriu's 'Flight Tracker' is the sort of quick-moving techno sound to lock you into a trance. Add in LAAT's 'The Age Of Juno' (oi oi!) and you have a very useful and high impact EP of contemporary techno.

Roberto Capuano - "Flashback" (6:32)
Victor Calderone - "Requiem" (6:42)
Ian O'Donovan - "The Border" (7:43)
Review: Adam Beyer's Drumcode imprint has for around 15 years been the go-to label for peak time, up front techno on the harder side of things; and this is more of the same! Who better to start proceedings than Belgium's Marco Bailey throwing down a right stomper in the form of "Don't You Want Me" while Italy's Roberto Capuano gives us "Flashback", its infectious melody hypnotises you while its beat pummels you. New York City legend Victor Calderone serves up "Requiem" which is more minimal in presentation, working a vocal loop over a nice bass stab and those harsh, metallic snares. Finally Ian O'Donovan gives us "The Border" with its epic soaring strings, bleeping melody, dark stabs and funky bassline getting more on a progressive/tech house tip.

Living The Lie (6:55)
Review: The mighty Drumcode label sure knows how to serve up the supersized, massively heavyweight techno rollers. And a master of that particular form is Patrick Berg. He is afforded the luxury of serving up just one tune to this new, one sided, etched 12". 'Living The Lie' is as bulky as they come - the glitchy clasp peel of the rumbling bass, subtle trance stabs bring that rising sense of euphoria and the mounters kick just hammer the whole thing home. It is an epic tune for epic party moments, especially once the diva vocal rings out.

Teach Me (Amelie Lens Acid mix) (5:25)
Review: For his first outing of 2019, Adam Beyer has turned over the parts to his 2014 single "Teach Me" to Belgium's first lady of banging, acid-fuelled techno, Amelie Lens. She subsequently serves up two throbbing, peak-time ready revisions, with the A-side "Main Mix" offering a near perfect blend of booming, kick-drum driven beats, military snare fills, cut-up late night vocal samples and distorted, mind-altering riffs. As the title suggests, the flipside "Acid Remix" sees Lens indulge her love of mind-altering TB-303 acid lines, brilliantly wrapping them around a springier drum track, EBM-influenced melodic motifs and more pulsating, manipulated vocal loops.

Code Is The Code (7:30)
Dub Embassy (5:03)
Review: Drumcode titan Adam Beyer is back in business with some of that monolithic sound he's made such a prominent force in global techno. 'Dirty Lagoon' is a slamming monster of a track with daggering rave stabs and hefty kicks to fill any stadium you care to think of. 'Code Is The Code' has a slightly deeper tint, but it's no slouch on the full-fat production all the same. 'Dub Embassy' takes things towards a trancey kind of sound, all swirling synth lines and pinging sound FX, but never too far from that core Drumcode sound we all love so dearly.

Legend (7:14)
Review: Drumcode's main brain Adam Beyer hardly needs any introduction, but newcomers to the label might be surprised that his outfit has its sights set on putting out single-sided releases at the minute. 'Legend' is Beyer's kick-off for 2023, following up the completion of his own home studio with an inspired production run. An ascendant fast-build to sublime ecstasy, the track characteristically locks into a deep arpeggiated saw line at its drop; an example of Beyer flaunting his ability to juxtapose massive pre-drop space with post-drop minimality.

Let's Begin (6:06)
Computerized (5:24)
Red Room (6:38)
Review: Drumcode supremo Adam Beyer has become increasingly more prolific in recent years, signalling a creative renaissance that recalls the undoubted quality of his work in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His first outing of 2024, which follows a quartet of EPs last year, is predictably strong and packed to the rafters with future Drumcode anthems. Fittingly, he starts with 'Let's Begin', where mutilated vocal loops, mind-mangling rave noises and unsettling melodic motifs dance atop a typically thunderous and breathless big room techno groove, before opting for a dirtier, acid-flecked groove, metallic noises and sped-up hip-hop vocal samples on 'Computerized' (hip-techno anyone?). To round things off, he goes darker and denser still on the loopy techno power of 'Red Room', which pleasingly also boasts the same Aisha vocal sample as the Orb's 'Blue Room'.

Restore My Soul (DJ Rush remix) (4:29)
Review: Two right legends of techno unite here for the latest release on Drumcode. Label chief Adam Beyer presents 'Restore My Soul' featuring Chicago hard techno veteran DJ Rush, their relationship stretching back nearly three decades from when they both started out in the' 90s. The title track is aimed squarely at the main room dancefloor; a seething, mental groove featuring Rush's stern vocal delivery atop, before taking the energy levels into the peak time on the adrenalised thrasher 'Control'. Over on the flip, you are treated to a rework of the title track by DJ Rush himself in his typically stomping and orotund style.

Your Mind (8:29)
Review: Some collaborative business from the mighty Drumcode camp, as boss man Adam Beyer joins forces with long-serving label artist Bart Skils for the very first time. There's just a single track (albeit pressed on to rather nifty looking marbled vinyl) to get your teeth into, but it's impactful. The duo has put a thunderous, mind-altering arpeggio bassline and heavy kick-drum/hi-hat pattern at the heart of the action, variously decorating it with long, drawn-out organ chords, creepy held synthesizer notes and - most potently - a beguiling vocal sample that neatly summarises the Drumcode clubbing ethos ("you... you're losing your mind"). In other words, it sounds like a future big room techno anthem.

Your Mind (Charles D Epic mix) (8:00)
Your Mind (Charles D Acid Line mix) (7:38)
Review: Here's a big old belter on that biggest of techno fortresses, Drumcode. On this two-track slammer, Adam Beyer and Bart Skils' monster track 'Your Mind' gets revisited by New York up and comer Charles D. After releases on Say What? and Pryda, D is able to show off his skills twice over, on the A-side living up to the billing of the 'Epic mix' of 'Your Mind' by bringing in the big, swelling pads that can fill a stadium and get hands raised aloft. On the flip, the 'Acid Line' version unsurprisingly brings a little 303 action into the mix, and makes sure the undercarriage is a thunderous juggernaut of supersized techno.

Living In The Moment (5:42)
Review: The latest from Swedish techno legend is a full-throttle techno assault, pushing Drumcode's legacy forward with relentless energy. The title track is a peak-time juggernaut, built on heavy chords, pounding kicks and a futuristic intensity that commands the dancefloor. With its driving momentum and anthemic hooks, it's a high-octane statement from two producers at the top of their game. On Side-2, 'Living In The Moment' ventures into atmospheric territory, teetering on the edge of trance with sci-fi textures and sweeping builds. Its long, tension-heavy progression culminates in devastating drops, overloading the senses with a euphoric yet punishing crescendo. With Drumcode nearing its 30th year, this release proves there's no slowing downithe label continues to deliver high-impact techno designed for maximum effect. Beyer and Brown's collaboration is a successful dose of tension, release and unrelenting intensity.

Review: Techno team-ups don't come bigger than this, as Drumcode's overlord of all things mega-tech Adam Beyer links up with Chicago's agent provocateur Green Velvet to give you your next stadium shaking anthem. This isn't the first time Beyer and Velvet have worked together - you could find them on the 2018 track 'Space Date' for one thing - but there's a sense 'Simulator' will become their calling card as a formidable double act. It's simply huge, catchy as hell and full of all the fireworks you could wish for from a super-sized techno workout, all guided by Velvet's unmistakable voice ducking and diving around the expertly engineered mix.

Rome Future (7:10)
Review: Drumcode head honcho Adam Beyer and Chicagoan legend Curtis Jones (aka Green Velvet) had discussed writing music together for a long time. Also, Beyer's protege Layton Giordani had admired the mohawked Jones' work for as long as he could remember. When he got to DJ alongside him at Belfast's Shine - the spark and subsequent friendship was immediate. The outcome of this respected trio's musical journey comes in the form of "Space Date" which will be familiar to many who've followed their sets over recent months. Featuring a relentless main room stomp with steely hats and droney synth leads, all accompanied by Green Velvet's trademark vocal delivery. The thunderous peak time energy of "Rome Future" is likewise guaranteed to rock the house - that killer Reese bassline particularly is sure to blow the doors off!

His 'Take Me There' is first up in remix form and Carl Cox flips it into a surging peak time roller. Kaiserdisco then brings dark, stomping warehouse energy to their raved-ready 'Get On The Dancefloor.'
