Review: Saying that Editor's Kutz is going string would be an understatement, and although the label are only on their seventh outing to date, it feels like much longer that we've been graced with their inimitable style of disco editing. There's four cuts this time, a timeless bunch of disco groovers that have been re-moulded for the modern ear and its need for a steady but of 4/4. "Shining Bright" from VinylAddicted is any disco lover's dream come true, while Dan Johnson's "Love Affair" is a solid, fist-pumping bomb with one mighty bassline. On the B-side, "Stop On By" is more laid-back and cooler in its approach, but "Get Ready" is the shining star here, a deep, wet slice of dynamite funk that you could leave on repeat for hours on end.

Review: France's faves Battle Weapons deliver two heady new edits, only for those ready. On the A comes an ingenious, probably never-done-before, almost laughably why-hasn't-anyone-else-ever-thought-of-this-until-now breakbeat rendition of Peter Bjorn & John's 'The Young Folks'. To be frank, they've not done much besides beef up the backbeat a little, but a simple sprucing up is sometimes all a tune needs. On the flip comes a phattened version of 'Forgot About Dre' mashed up with the Azzido Da Bass UK garage classic 'Dooms Night', also produced to hilariously, surreally arresting effect.

Review: Rebel MC's posse cut "Get Ready" gets a double dose of remix treatment courtesy of the legendary Congo Natty label. Featuring the vocal talents of the always dextrously tongued General Levy alongside Daddy Freddy and Nancy Correla, the D&B skank of the original gets twisted in two pleasingly diverse directions either side of this twelve inch which should have the original nuttahs among us crying out for a rewind! First up is the Serum & Northern Lights' re-lick, which is full of thwacking drum kicks, punchy breaks, grinding synths and swaggering attitude. On the flip, East London's Sukh Knight provides a rather different perspective on proceedings with an eerie, synth-drenched dubstep soundscape which gives the track a nicely narcotic half step swagger.

And there are few better labels for it than Classic, who now serve up this superb three tracker. 'Get My Mansion Ready' is family in structure - chunky but simple drums with a sermon-style vocal over the top and warm organ chords. 'Out Of Control' gets a little more loose with clattering hits broken bass loops, but still a church-like vocal. To finish off, Hood serves up a dub of 'Get My Mansion Ready' that has more turbocharged chords and even more uplifting energy.

Now they serve up a brand new and red hot 7" for Swiss label Burning Sole. 'Get Ready Everybody' features Mel Superbad Day and has hard horn, taught guitars and fluttering flutes bringing the soul way up top over the tight rhythm section. Review: The SOS band is one of disco's most loved outfits. They always bring plenty of funk and soul to their work and have a signature sound that is feel good and sultry. This time their latest comeback single 'Just Get Ready' gets a fresh lick from legendary remixer Ben Liebrand. His opening funk groove version is all glossy vocals, rich chords and nice fat bass riffs. Michael Grey then offers an even brighter, more optimistic version before Liebrand then closes out with a Classic Groove. It's slowed right down, has brilliantly old school 80s production and a killer b-line.
