The 4ms Dual Looping Delay (or DLD) is an advanced audio processor for creative synthesis. Not a tape or analog emulation but a modern crystal-clear digital delay, the DLD combines features of delay, looping, and sample-tight synchronization for powerful and dynamic sound capture and modification. The DLD is designed to integrate seamlessly with modular time-base and sequencing devices such as the 4ms Quad Clock Distributor (QCD), etc.

What is a "Looping Delay"?
Modern looping devices grew directly from hardware digital delays of the late 70s and early 80s. A looping delay, modelled on units such as the classic Lexicon PCM42, has the very long storage times associated with dedicated looping, but without triggered record and playback functions.

By default, a looping delay records and plays continuously, though recording can be suspended at any time with Infinite Repeat. Sustain of delays and loops is mainly accomplished with regeneration, allowing an organic, evolving approach to sound creation as new material replaces old, more or less gradually. The 4ms Dual Looping Delay also provides advanced clock input and output facilities that allow for locking delayed and looped material with sequencers and rhythm devices of all descriptions.

This is a new build of a Mutable Instruments Clouds. This module is identical to the now discontinued factory made Clouds. This module loads parasites 2.01 Firmware by default.

The module is fully assembled, tested, and calibrated. Eurorack power cable is included.

Notes: This is an exact hardware replica of the Mutable Instruments Clouds.

Notes: This is a new build of a Monsoon, which is a variation of Mutable Instruments Clouds with separate CV and controls for the 4 "blend" functions. The 4 LEDs on the sliders indicate incoming control voltage for the 4 main parameters. The button which was used to select blend parameters now simply switches what the 4 LEDs display (audio input monitoring or monitoring the 4 blend amounts.) Parasites 2.01 firmware is loaded by default. Alternative firmware can be loaded by request.

Notes: Crush Delay v3 is a special Echo-Delay unit based on the PT2399 IC, which is able to offer 400ms of clean delay and up to 2 seconds of dirty repetitions, having a special talent to generate noisy-glitch textures. The module bases its operation on controlling the PT2399 chip with circuit bending techniques, converting the unit in an advanced VC digital trash generator. This third version comes with some interesting new features like redesigned VCAs circuits, wider range for clean delay and reduced depth to make it skiff friendly.

The module features a few VCAs to provide a flexible signal route to maximize module's possibilities. First two VCAs at the inputs to control the amount of signal sent to the delay. The first is routed to both the dry/wet mix and the delay, and the second directly to the delay. Combining the second VCA and the FX Send output allows external feedback routings.

Compared with v2, this third version offers a bigger range of clean delay time as well as a revision of some of the Crush modifiers. The Erica Synths Black BBD is one of kind analogue delay module. It features two BBD lines: short, 1024 stage and long, 4096 stage, that work simultaneously and you can smoothly fade between those two, thus creating distinct multitap effect.

Furthermore, an advanced BBD clock noise cancellation circuit is implemented that reduces unwanted BBD noise without filtering higher frequencies of audio signal. Most of parameters are voltage controlled, which allows to integrate the module in complex modular setups.

Time

This is delay time manual control.

Because of BBD clock suspension circuit, delay time can be pushed in extremely long regions, however in that case BBD clock noise may appear. The Time CV is added to the knob setting.

In level

This is the input attenuator switch. Select among full amplitude, half amplitude and audio off.

BBD mode

This control smoothly fades between short and long delays. Any setting in-between will result in distinct multitap delay effect.

LFO rate

Adjust the internal modulation LFO rate. The internal LFO controls delay time, and it's automatically disengaged, when an external modulation signal is connected. The LED gives visual feedback on the LFO rate.

LFO shape

Select the LFO shape. Three shapes are available - triangle, square and in-between shape - mix of triangle and square.

Input

This is the audio input of the module. This is manual Dry/Wet mix. The MIX CV is added to the knob setting.

Colour

Even though the module has BBD clock suspension circuit, the colour switch provides extra lowpass filtering of the signal. At top setting no filtering is applied, at lower settings increasing filtering is present.

Feedback

This is the delay feedback manual control. In extreme clockwise settings the module goes into self-oscillation, and by adjusting delay time and BBD mode settings, the module becomes a drone machine. The FBK CV is added to the knob setting.

CV level

This is the Time CV level attenuator. If nothing is patched into TIME CV socket, it controls the internal LFO amplitude.

WET out

This is the WET signal output of the module - use it for advanced patches.

This is the main output of the module.

Notes: The Intellijel/Cylonix RAINMAKER eurorack-format module provides a high-quality (96KHz sampling rate with 32-bit internal processing) stereo rhythmic delay and stereo comb resonator effect.

The stereo rhythm delay has 16 taps, each with its own resonant 2nd-order filter and granular pitch shifter. The filters have independently adjustable resonance and cutoff frequency, and can be set to either lowpass, bandpass, highpass or bypass operation. The filters are also capable of self-oscillation, enabling modal synthesis techniques. The granular pitch shifters have a range of 15 semitones up or 16 semitones down. Each tap can repeat at a rate value set in tap#'s in order to create regenerating echo effects. The feedback signal has a lowpass/highpass tone control and its own pitch shifter. The tap delay times can range from 0.1 millisecond up to a maximum of 20 seconds. The overall delay times can be set with the rotary encoder, the tap tempo button, or synced to an external clock.

The stereo comb resonator section has 64 time-delayed taps which are summed together. This produces a deep comb filter or resonating effect. At large comb sizes (long time delays) a multiple echo effect is produced. The density of the resonator can be varied from 2 to 64 taps. The tap with the longest delay time is fed back to the input. High feedback levels, with short comb sizes, produce "Karplus-Strong" types of plucked string sounds. The relative timing of the 64 taps are set according to one of 16 different preset patterns, which provide different resonator timbres or echo rhythms. The comb size can be set either with the rotary encoder, an external clock or through a transposable 1v/oct input voltage.

The Rainmaker module has extensive voltage control capabilities. Direct voltage control is available for the delay feedback level and tone, the global pitch shift for all delay taps, the comb resonator size, and comb feedback level. There are two assignable modulation inputs, which can be assigned to different parameters in each preset. A trigger input with assignable functionality can trigger built-in types of noise bursts, freeze the delay buffer, reverse the delay, randomize parameters, mute taps, and much more.

The Cutting Room Floor was designed to emulate the sound and functionality of vintage reel-to-reel tape overdrive and echo. This eurorack module reaches into the 21st century with customized features that traverse the world of modulation and delay. Imagine an abandoned factory with a fluttering tape machine left on repeat.

The Cutting Room Floor provides beautifully marred saturated tape tone, and ethereal repeats in a streamlined 6hp interface. Other features include a freeze button that traps any tone while still playing and CV control for time.

Designed and assembled in Seattle, Washington. Includes a limited 1-year warranty, if registered within 30 days of purchase.

(Delay And Reverb)

Motion Pictures combines lush delay and reverb with intuitive, powerful controls within a 10HP module. Choose between a crisp digital delay or a warm analogue delay and pair it with a spacious, large-hall stereo reverb. Delay and reverb levels can be adjusted independently, allowing you to use them separately or together. The delay time can be controlled using a knob, tap tempo, or CV. You can even send opposing CV signals to the tap tempo and delay time for glitchy, pitch-bending, rhythmic effects. Additionally, CV control extends to the feedback, delay, and reverb levels, providing greater flexibility. Motion Pictures offers rich ambient sounds in a compact design, combining delay and reverb in one module to optimize rack space while preserving sonic depth.

Every function, control, gain stage, and signal path component in Magneto works together to respond musically and smoothly, even during the wildest live modular improvisations. Not only does Magneto deliver the warm, luscious delay signals that tape delays are known for, it is also capable of a high degree of saturation. Turn up the Record Level knob to send a hot signal to the record head for any amount of tape saturation you desire. Turn up the Tape Age control for warmer repeats. Add some truly beautiful Spring Reverb. Magneto adds organic heart and soul to the sound of your modular.

The effect of the Low Cut and Tape Age knobs are explored, followed by the mechanical 'deterioration' of the machine with the Crinkle and Wow and Flutter controls. The Speed knob is put to use for sonic enhancement.

In a typical digital effect the dry signal gets converted to digital, causing conversion noise and latency. Signals are often attenuated before combining digital dry and wet, with makeup gain amplifying the conversion noise. To avoid this scenario, Strymon have equipped Magneto with a completely analog dry path. Why go to all this trouble? Because the improvements in dynamic range and reduction in noise are so dramatic.

Strymon have outfitted Magneto with the powerful Analog Devices SHARC ADSP-21369 processor, which provides a 366 MHz core instruction rate, and an incredible 2.4 Gigaflops of peak performance. Thanks to this high-powered technology platform within Magneto, we had the freedom to craft our processor-intense tape echo algorithms without compromise.

Notes: Sarajewo is an analog delay module based on old school (but newly manufactured) BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) chips. It features three delay taps, an external clock input with various tempo sync factors, and a wide range of settings controllable via CV. It is based on high quality components with maximum effort put towards the highest sound quality possible, while still preserving the charm of the BBD technology. The module offers a clean and warm analog sound with tons of character and a comfortable user interface with a tap tempo button, signal level indicators, sync and CV inputs, four signal outputs, and an adjustable feedback filter.

Notes: Another cracker from Xaoc, the Timiszoara is a take on digital multi-effects with stereo in and out, an intuitive interface and CV control of effect parameters. Big power with 176 factory programs.

Supplier's Notes:
Timiszoara is a stereo, Eurorack compatible, voltage-controlled multi-effect signal processor based on the popular Spin Semiconductor FV-1 DSP chip. It features a full stereo signal path with two adjustable audio inputs, two outputs, and a stereo voltage-controlled wet/dry mixer. In addition, there is a microSD memory card slot on the front panel that allows for loading factory and custom effects without any restrictions or copyright protection, which means you can use many effects available on the Internet and even create your own.

Effect programs are organized in banks of 8 and can be selected using a rotary encoder, as well as CV and trigger signals. Timiszoara features a crisp OLED screen that displays the program parameters and its name. It also facilitates navigating the list of banks. Up to three parameters per effect can be controlled from the front panel with illuminated slider potentiometers and dedicated CV inputs.

Xaoc Devices have prepared quite a few banks of algorithms (176 in total) that cover most effects needs: delays, reverbs, filters, modulation effects (such as choruses and flangers), pitch shifters, and, of course, shimmers (no multi-effects unit would be complete without its share of those). However, Xaoc Devices wanted to ensure that users had access to some more adventurous programs, so some special banks have been created to allow you to take a walk on the wild side.
