Review: From Tanworth-in-Arden to Wimpole Street and the Sound Techniques studio, Nick Drake's journey to his debut full-length is laid bare in this meticulous, four-disc archival set, authorised by the Drake Estate and mastered by original engineer John Wood. Originally released on Island Records in 1969, the album's making is told across more than 30 previously unheard outtakes, Cambridge demos and alternate takesitracing the evolution of songs like 'Day Is Done', 'Saturday Sun' and the devastating 'River Man' from fragile sketches to finished elegies. Disc one's "Beverley Martyn demo" reveals a more tentative, companionable Drake, while the Cambridge reel captures a private world of haunting, early ideas ('Made to Love Magic', 'My Love Left With The Rain'). The studio takes on disc three show a singer still searching, his signature phrasing emerging through repetition and rejection. A sixty-page book, pressed on textured stock and written by Neil Storey and Richard Morton-Jack, completes the reissue. A landmark document of a quiet revolutionary who shaped modern songwriting through understatement, nuance and myth.

Of albums from the mid-00s indie rock boom, few stand the test of time as well as Silent Alarm. It's one of the best debuts by any rock band ever, with hits 'Like Eaing Glass', 'Helicopter', 'The Modern Love' and 'Banquet' undeniable bangers. Review: Recorded live in 1992 at the Deer Head Inn in Delaware Water Gap, Pennsylvania, this classic trio session is a brilliant reevocation of what it might have been like to walk in on an early performance by the great pianist Keith Jarrett blind, as he retrod familiar ground in new shoes. At The Deer Head Inn, released by ECM in 1994, marks the first time since 1976 that Jarrett recorded with drummer Paul Motian, joined here by bassist Gary Peacock. The set blends graceful standards ('Bye Bye Blackbird', 'You Don't Know What Love Is') with deeper cuts like Jaki Byard's 'Chandra', where Motian's light, hovering touch offers a looser counterpoint to Jack DeJohnette's usual muscularity. A quietly compelling detour in Jarrett's discography, it's also one of his most unguarded and conversational small-club performances on record.

Notes: The new ADDAC320 Servo Control is a nod to Neil Young's Whizzer, a device that was ahead of its time. This tool enabled control over amplifier pots through the use of pedals, resulting in far-reaching tonal variation. Notes: When the classic MS-20 analog synthesizer appeared in 1978, it had a trusted partner in the SQ-10 step sequencer. Now, after thirty years, the MS-20 has been reborn as the MS-20 mini, and the SQ-10 has evolved into the more modern SQ-1.
The SQ-1 is a compact step sequencer with 2 x 8 steps. It's wealth of connection jacks allows it to be connected to the MS-20 and a variety of other synthesizers. Vintage analog synths or the latest compact synths can be controlled from this single unit. You can also switch between a variety of synthesizer modes and use the step buttons to create performances overflowing with spontaneity, just as when using a volca unit.
Liberate yourself from the numerically-bound parameter editing that's typical on a DAW; you'll enjoy truly musical inspiration as you train your ears and concentrate on what your fingertips are doing. Don't miss the experience of music that's driven by your instinct.
Rather than the commonly used V/Oct standard, the CV design of the MS-20 always used the Hz/V standard that provides excellent pitch stability limiting the step sequencers that are able to correctly control the MS-20. As a descendant of the SQ-10, the SQ-1 supports the Hz/V standard, enabling it to perfectly control the MS-20 or MS-20 mini. It goes without saying the V/Oct standard is also supported, and the voltage level of the CV output and polarity of the GATE output can be specified as appropriate for the device you've connected. This versatility will enable you to control a wide variety of other synthesizers as well.
As a connector, the SQ-1 provides two CV/GATE OUT channels, the standard MIDI OUT and USB MIDI, littleBits out (to connect to the littleBits synth kit by littleBits Electronics Inc.), plus the SYNC IN/OUT channel that allows you to connect to the volca series and monotribe. Compact and complete with all the functions you need, the SQ-1 is the ideal hardware sequencer.

Notes: The PO16 is a sleek, compact, single-turn rotary potentiometer module for controlling quick motion changes like EQ, filters, or synth parameters.
Equipped with customisable multi-coloured LED lights to enable labelling in dark environments. Facilitate differentiating each potmeter by changing the colour of each indicator LED, adjusting brightness levels individually or adding pulsing animations.
It is recommended that, Grid is connected directly to the computer with the supplied Intech Studio USB-C cable. Some USB hubs may not work with Grid, due to issues with how the various class compliant communication methods establish connection through a hub with the host computer.
Most digital audio workstations can identify Grid as a MIDI controller and appear as a MIDI mappable device. When multiple modules are interconnected, Grid is identified as a single control surface. If the interconnected controllers are plugged in separately into the same Host, they appear as Grid #1, Grid #2 MIDI devices and so forth.
By default, through the Host's MIDI learn functionality, all of the control elements can be mapped. Grid's default firmware uses a unique dynamic assignment, so a 10 module Grid control surface will have unique Channel, Command and CC/Note assignments on each control element.
Grid controllers are shipped with firmware default configuration. To modify the configurations of the controllers, the Grid Editor cross-platform application can be used. Through the Grid Editor, suggested manufacturer profiles and community profiles are also available. Grid has an event driven architecture, where every interaction with the controller triggers an event. The triggered event runs the configured actions, like setting LED colours and intensity.
